Anyone who has watched any track over the past 2 years knows how good Alfred is. I wouldn't say Richardson was the favorite at all. Alfred is a horse and it was obvious she was going to win since the first round. Thinking the same thing will happen in the men's 100.

Never understood how or who NBC chooses to hype for its coverage. In 2016, Dalilah Muhammad got 0 hype and she wins gold. She's talented and attractive and basically ignored. Gabby Thomas is getting a little attention but not nearly the hype Richardson got. I don't think Richardson choked. But maybe she was overhyped.
Context matters. Grant Fisher ran with courage, heart, and smarts, ran to his full capabilities and potential, and came home with a bronze with gold almost in reach.
