I guess she's complacent with her gold medal and multi million dollar deals. She just doesn't seem to really love running as opposed to so many others that enjoy the training and lifestyle. Also, she hardly races. What does she expect. I know she's still very young but I don't think she has the mindset for a long career in this sport. Her glory days may have come and gone.

Like many on LRC your ability to detect any subtle form of humor is lacking. Having said that, there are more than a few teen sensations who were never able to duplicate their best times once their body matured. Mary Cain is one.
Although I’m sure there are a few Mu haters, her lack of racing simply turns some people off. Since she turned pro on June 24, 2021, how many times has she raced outside of US Champs/Worlds and Trials/Olympics settings? Looks like 1X after the Trials/Oly in 2021, 9X before USA/Worlds in 2022, 1X before and 1X after USA/Worlds in 2023 and now 1X after the Trials in 2024 for a total of 13 races in 37 months as a pro.
Comparisons suck, but I’m going to do it anyway and you know exactly who I’m going to pick for my stupid comparison … Keely has laced em up nearly 50 times during that same time frame outside of British/UK/Worlds and Olympic settings.
If you don’t want to compete outside of the prestigious orbit of Worlds and the Olympics, some of us aren’t going to comfort you when you falter on that big stage. They say “iron sharpens iron” and Mu is soft right now.
Traveling to the other side of the country to fade a 2 flat in glorious ol' G-ville fresh off of getting bounced from the trials, while everybody else is simultaneously touching down in Paris for the big dance.
She doesn't even look like the same athlete that we saw 2021. And I don't mean running, I mean her actual physical appearance.

I think she should switch to the 400 meters and see how fast she can get. She may do better running her own race in her own lane. It is almost like she doesn't enjoy competing against others. Because she avoids racing, she is also under-prepared for the jostling that occurs in 800s. I wish her well! As others have said, she is very young and has a bright future ahead of her, whatever she chooses to do or not do with running.
Mike Tyson seems like the most apt comparison. He was a young phenom, started winning championships at age 20 -- people started talking about "best-ever" talent. Then within a couple years his personal life becomes an issue, he has setbacks, and loses the championship to Douglas at age 23 I think. Tyson's personal life spiraled even more out of control from there, but his issues/behavior was a lot worse than Mu's. But he did eventually make a comeback. Here's hoping Mu makes a comeback too.

The fan would be dissapointed for her not in her. The anti-fan here doesnt celebrate what she's accomplished but desires to destroy anything good. Sound familiar?

I don't think it ever made any sense, and if she went to sound running, it would at least make sense she didn't want to travel.
Did the Diamond league not let her in because they didn't think she was in shape?
My initial guess was that she chose Gainesville to doge competition, but obviously Gainesville ended up being better than sound running.

She definitely needs to reaccess everything and get it together mentally and physically soon or do that Pamela Jelimo 1:54.01 pb Olympic Champion and retire after she lost her fire for training and running.

Too many athletes these days forget the simple truth that without fans, there is cash in the sport.
if you don’t compete, if you don’t show just a bit of appreciation for the passion (and revenue) we bring to your sport, an acknowledgment that without us little people there’s no modeling career in LA, then we will justifiably criticize you.
Unfortunately not only athletes but the governing boards that run the sport have lost track of this very simple truth.
