Why did people make a big deal of Deshaun Watson’s behavior at massage parlors? Why did people make a big deal about Adrian Peterson beating his kid with a stick? Why did people make a big deal about Harrison Butker’s crazy sexist comments?

Athletes are people first. Who they are as people matters much more than what they can do in athletic competition. It tells us if we should cheer them, and it tells companies if they should sponsor them.

i believe she knew the deal going into it and if she couldn't handle it, they could have waited to have a child.

but really, i think what she's going through is probably natural, but she 100% should not have posted it. she even said it is getting better and is excited for the anticipation of when he comes home.

and im sure being estranged from most of his family doesn't make these times any easier.

No but he probably shouldnt have gotten her pregnant so soon if he knew it would lead to conflict between his work and wife during one of the most important times in his career.

There is never a good time.

He should do his training in the town where they live. Nothing is more important than being there for his family during this crucial time period.

Plus Jakob may have wanted to not be doping when he impregnated his wife. Maybe he is a damn good father in that sense.

He is VERY much into his wife. He took her last name as his middle name. Part of the conflict with his father was based on how he was committed to her during his teenage, years, right?

Being a new parent is hard. I hope she has lots of help. There is a tendency for lots of parents to try to do everything themselves. I think the best advice I got was from a buddy who said something like, "The hospital will offer to take care of the baby forthe night when it's born. No matter what - take them up on the offer. You all will be exhausted and need to sleep so accept the help as you'll be on call without there help 24 hours later."

Feelings of guilt can creep in so some people try to do too much themselves.

Corbin Burnes the pitcher for the Orioles just started the all-star game. I was STUNNED as his wife just had twins. I figured he'd decline his all-star start. Nope, she ENCOURAGED him to go to the all-star game. And that's a game that doesn't even matter but it is a huge honor to get to start it.

As for people saying we shouldn't allow this converesation to take place, I totally disagree. She broadcast it to the world on tiktok but i am going to require registration moving forward and ask people to be kind and realize they may read what you write.

It does count for sure, but and I say but a 100 times out or 100, Jakob MUST BE THERE WATCHING OVER Elisabeth throughout her labor and childbirth, for at least 24hrs before, and 24hrs after for a total of 48hrs bare minimum!!!!

I know of true husbands being up to 72-96 hours beside their wives during labor and childbirth. He can do whatever he wants after but these 48hrs needed to be penciled into his schedule like a commandment!!!!!!!!!

1) Base on the facts and circumstances of Jakob's and Elisabeth's case, nothing about it suggests any truly exceptional qualifications that should ever lead to Jakob completely neglecting Elisabeth during her most crucial and vulnerable moments as a woman during labor and childbirth. That Jakob was out training and training hard and being a committed athlete to achieve Olympic Gold in Paris IS NOT an exceptional qualification at all!!! It's a blatant lack of ethics and good acting.

There’s no disputing she opened herself up to this scrutiny when she posted this to TikTok, but try to consider the effect that being born in 2000 and growing up with social media may have had on that decision. Millions of young people (heck, millions of older people too) struggle to vet the highly personal content they post online—sometimes the tasteful response is just to look away.
