Should he take into account that UVa is one of the best academic universities in the country when deciding if he should transfer?
Gary loves UVA. He will keep improving and teammates make for great relays.
Vin has a guy in final of 1500, steeple and 800. Pretty solid so far.
Vin doesn’t really coach much at UVA. The top athletes have to seek outside motivation to run fast. They have problems within the team culture and dynamic. Vin was once a great coach but 15 plus years past his prime. If Gary wants to be at the top and not just good it’s his decision. Some athletes don’t like to be pushed and challenged to be great. Vin also surrounds himself by yes sir people and average coaches to put himself on a pedestal. UVA has a really strange dynamic right now. I hope Gary really thinks about his future if he wants to be great.

I don’t think Lananna is very healthy right now. At ACC’s he didn’t look well.
Gary Martin is not as talented as you all think. He's just never going to be a 3:32 guy. It's his genetics.
His muscle fiber type is best for 3k/5k but he is too tall and heavy. His build is good for 800m but he doesn't have the speed and turnover.
He's doing better than I expected him to do in college at UVA. Their 800m guy Cohen is a BEAST, Mountain is the favorite to win the steeplechase and his teammate Porter qualified in the 1500 for the final.
Hard to blame the training when everyone else on the team is doing so well. Gary is just not what you think he is.
I kind of agree with this. Obviously you are talented if you run 3:57 in high school but I’m not sure I see him as a pro. His form is awkward and kind of lumbering and doesn’t have much of a close. Hope I’m wrong because he seems like an awesome kid but if he has a pro career I don’t see him competing for teams.

You have a vivid imagination, Bro. It’s obvious you’re just making up lies because Vin’s team beat yours at the ACC championship.
Who cares how a miler does in a cross country 10k, Bro. It’s irrelevant. Gary’s strength is the track and he’ll come back even better next year.
If he’s that bad at XC then his coach needs to fix that. Bad observation If you want to develop a miler
Washington’s 1500/mile champs haven’t achieved anything in cross country and they’ve done well on the track. The focus is track not cross country, Bro. Cross country is just conditioning for 1500/mile bros.
Gary is primarily a track bro, bro. UVA is a better track program.
Well he was practically last place at Cross Country NCAAs. Another reason showing he’s not being developed correctly
Gary was sick at NCAA nationals and wasn’t able to run for the week leading up to the meet. He got 8th at ACCs, so he obviously has XC strength (even if he’s a better 1500/mile guy).

Idiotic take, pseudo geneticist, strangely pathetic pajama person .
Vin won’t take responsibility for Gary’s race. He will blame shift to Gary. Responsibility isn’t his thing as a coach.
Vin Lananna doesn’t take responsibility for anything he does. And he’s done a lot of things wrong throughout his career to a lot of people that would shock you. This is probably why he’s so disliked.
