Never been the same since that 2nd covid infection. It’s all anyone talks about on tennis boards when he comes up
Djokovic’s second Covid infection, for which he tested positive, was in December of 2021. There was much fuss about this back in January of 2022 in the media. He accomplished a lot after that time frame, so I don’t know what people are carrying on about.

He got knocked in the head by a water bottle recently and wasn't feeling right in a recent loss. But his first round match at the French Open seemed to be pretty typical Djokovic. His first round opponent is a Frenchman who was putting it all out there in front of his home crowd. Novak was steady and got the breaks he needed to win in straight sets.
I think father time is finally catching up to Djokovic. And the men's top players are finally learning that they can beat Djokovic. Jannik Sinner seems like a Djokovic 2.0. Very lean, fit and efficient. Can rally for days and have enough energy to make an explosive passing shot. It is just a fact of life that a 37 year old is going to lose a step to a 22 year old.

Just sharing what people are talking about. It’s a pretty widespread belief.
This isn’t a topic of discussion on tennis forums. For example here’s a 200+ page thread about Djokovic’s loss to Machac. Lots of speculation for his loss and not one mention of Covid.
Which forum do you see his recent decline blamed on Covid?
Must be delayed Long Covid seeing as how he got Covid in 2021 and kicked butt in 2023
Thus the LONG part. COVID is to blame for every cold, fever, rash, etc. you get post-COVID. Either that or the shot. Take your pick. We are all going to die from COVID or the COVID shot, the only question is when.

He complained of a “relapsing” fever earlier this year. Many pointed out that’s a classic long COVID symptom. Again. Just sharing the chatter from the tennis world.

You forgot: failed to make it to the final of a Grand Slam tournament that he’s played for the first time since the 2022 French Open.
Won 3 of 4 Grand Slams in 2023 and lost in the finals in the other.
All while having long covid per the posters on Letsrun
8 tournament wins in the 13 Grand Slams he played in from 2020 to 2023. He would have been 10 for 15, but the idiots in Australia and the US prevented him from participating in 2022.
