Why are Crossfitters ridiculed?

Why it's called a box?

I know a lot of Cross Fitters. From my experience with them I would say the good thing xfit brought to the gym is that prior to xfit, a LOT of people were spending money going to the gym and leaving looking about as tired as when they walked in. Cross fit brought back the idea that it's OK to go at it HARD if you want results.

The worst thing is that "lifting for time" just seems do go against everything you should do when lifting.

Case in point, MTG was a cross fitter.

Yes - I know someone who really changed their life through it so I can't criticise it too much. But I don't like the concept of doing as many of the exercise as possible in a set amount of time - at all. It leads to rushing, not doing the exercise properly, not caring for form and so on. Form is so important.

I didn't mention the American flag.

Thin blue line flag almost makes some sense, in theory, except it's flown by the dumbest of the dumb. The thin red line flag is just nonsense and a bunch of people wanting to feel victimized too—no one hates firemen.

Why do they need military flags? It's another job. Are there flags for loggers at Crossfit boxes. They do something we all rely on and it is objectively more dangerous.

Also, all these "thin ____ line" flags are against flag code

Let's not pretend you care about flag code.

Let's not pretend you wouldn't be raging at the loggers for flying a logger flag if they didn't share your politics.

A logger flag would be cool, as long as it wasn't some corny take on the US flag and wasn't as politically loaded message like all the other ones. These flags aren't meant to be apolitical—they are political to the core.

Crossfit can be great for general fitness and aethetics. The ridicule comes from the cult-like following and claims they are the "fittest athletes in the world", which they clearly are not. Crossfit seems to havel died off some in the last few years though; I don't hear much about it anymore.

Nope. I actually joked about a bumper sticker that says, "I believe police are an integral part of modern society and the job of police officer should be a highly respected position, but, taking the dumbest kids from your high school and putting them through a lackluster 6 month training academy is entirely insufficient and will inevitably lead to dysfunctional and incompetent law enforcement but this message is too long for a bumper sticker."

Is he just some dude or one of the top cross fit people? That context is pretty significant to how impressive that time is for me.

I think some of you are completely missing the concept of being well rounded.

Being the fittest athlete in the world doesn't mean being better than every other athlete in every other sport it means being great at more things than everyone else.

Someone brought up the decathlon. Decathletes cannot compete in any single event. The gold medal winner in 2020 ran a 4:31 1500m. A decent high schooler can easily beat that time.

That's almost as believable as your retiring flags story.

It's much more difficult to be a cop than you realize. The media shows you the worst of the worst which are a miniscule fraction of the whole and because you were one of the "dumbest kids from your high school" you think they are the norm.

They aren't training for excellent performance in any one area. They are training to be overall fit and have good-looking bodies. Jelly?

Besides not understanding the very basics of what is and isn't political, you're horribly wrong about this too.

Ashton Eaton ran a 45.00 400m. That's world class. He could have thrown his hat in the ring and maybe made some world finals if he chose to dedicate to it. Dude jumped 8.23. Bonkers. Everyone does recognize that their aerobic ability is the weakest of them all. A 4:31 1500m isn't great, but it's not horrendous. How many crossfitters could come close to that?

You lack self awareness so it's inconceivable to you that everyone doesn't view the flags politically like you do. This is a common problem low IQ people have. Don't feel too bad about it.

You're completely missing the well rounded bit yet again. I could easily argue that the top cross-fitter could deadlift 500 more pounds than Ashton Eaton or do 30 more pull-ups than Ashton Eaton. I think you'd be surprised how many cross-fitters could run a 4:31 1500m.

No crossfitter can deadlift 500 more lbs than Ashton Eaton. He could easily pull 400+lbs, but let's be extremely conservative and say 300lbs for some silly reason. That's an 800lb deadlift. Does Eddie Hall count as a crossfitter? Yes, I'll concede, a crossfitter could probably do more pullups than Ashton. If they were strict, no kip pullups, they probably wouldn't beat him by too much. The guy can polevault after all.
