Joe and Emma are off people. I don’t think Joe needs to get any kind of paying job with his family money. Been told by a former male athlete in the group he jumped ship because Joe is two face and was caught talking sh!t about his athletes in group text.

No men would run for Joe for a reason. He manipulates women in thinking he’s a good coach.

Let’s not forget, the same group of posters bashing Team Boss and the horrible coach Joe is are likely the very same people who were bashing BTC and Jerry S for being too rigid and also the same ones who bash OAC for being sus,

Mike Smith would have been a good option, particularly since she is close with some of the other runners there. That said she is from Longmont and I am sure she wanted to be back at home. OAC would have been good absent the Nike contract.

Avoiding the team boss hate and focusing on Elise. So no one in boulder knows anything. No one has seen her training, if injured she’s not on crutches since she was seen at NIN and in LA. Worst case she’s on a Valby program currently with some type of stress reaction or went too hard and needed to back off for a minute.

Another theory, we know Grant has a girlfriend, who follows the coffee club pod, and Elise has been on twice. She and Grant go way back and have been around each other for years at Stanford and BTC, maybe she’s his rumored girlfriend and has been away training in Grant’s group? At least it’s positive speculation.

Mike Smith also has her ex’s new girlfriend in that camp so not as good of an option.

EC has taken a little breather from the group. It's clear the Boss choice wasn't priority and hasn't quite worked out for who knows whatever reasons.

Seen regularly around the Lobo trail the last weeks on easy runs but just no foot on the gas as she needs to 'find the love for it again'. Base fitness is there.

A shame the 2 main choices are no-go's for now.... On AC for contractual reasons and Mike Smith Elite because of the above posts.

Her 5000m ranking (1254 points. 22nd /42 places) is safe & 1500m auto Q time.

Top 3 at the trials in 13 weeks is completely do-able.

If i was Nike then post Paris Olympics i'd wind down the laughing stock which is Union and start a new group in Boulder or Flag.
Maybe have Sonia Osulivan coach and focus on next generation women (Valby, Markezich) mixed with the likes of Cranny.

That whole LA event with JBS and all the stars looked cool but it would be even cooler if they put real resource into a female group. You reading this Brett Holts or whoever does Cap's job these days?

hard to blame BOSS if she's hurt, athletes change training all of the time, life requires diff stresses, some respond well some dont, she'll be fine whenever she races back

Thanks for the info. Understanding these things are cyclical, but right now it seems the “underdog” groups (UA Dark Sky, UA Baltimore, NAZ Elite, VNTC, NB Boston, Puma Elite) seem to be having a moment. Mike Smith Elite, OAC still doing well overall. But BTC (resurgence of late), Team Boss, Union are down but probably not out. The ones predicated on sticking with the college coach (SoVa, Taylormade, Eyestone) clearly have their merits too.
The best fit for Cranny might actually be NB Boston, but of course that’s not going to happen under her current contract. That being said, that’s an intense system so staving off injuries would be important.

Whoever gave her the advise to leave BTC during an Olympic year did her wrong. She literally could have given up her slot on the Olympic team doing so. Now she’s hurt and out

Best fit might be Puma having been a teammate of Amy’s and with Frerichs in the group. If Frerichs could stay with Nike but train with Puma Elite, so can Cranny. She’d have Fiona O’Keefe for the long stuff and could have the other mid D girls (or even some of the guys) for short stuff.

The way Joe has developed Dani Jones actually makes me angry when I think about it for too long. She is such a star…
