I know Faith Kipyegon but apparently a 1:57/3:50 man in Kenya is doping.
This gives me so many questions
1) Why are they wasting money testing a 1:57/3:50 man?
2) Does this make anyone less confident that all of these positives in Kenya are from intentional doping? Maybe some of them are negligence or food supply. Why would a guy so slow even bother? Or is it because he has nothing, he really needs to dope as it's only option to earn a decent living?
A lot of people here would dope to get to the Olympics.
He receives financial help from the Olympic committee. So he is being paid to be a full-time athlete and go to the Olympics. Not a bad life for a Sudanese refugee in Kenya. But he has to reach a certain standard to be ahead of the other refugee candidates, so he dopes.
The other guy from the refugee team who got busted was caught for EPO. Was that also an accident?
As to why they are testing these athletes, they are Olympic athletes, and Kenya is required to test all Olympic athletes due to 300+ busts over the last decade.
It's possible perhaps that Kenya has a quota of tests to make, and testing the hell out of a 1:57 male Sudanese refugee is better than testing the hell out of Faith Kipyogen or Wayanayomi.
