    How you break this down to the high schooler: Nico ran a 4 mile tempo run, then finished his evening with an 8:26.83 3200m without stopping.

    Could he run a very limited NCAA season though? Meaning only race regionals and nationals in June, and just the 5000? If so, there's probably not much practical difference between his training and racing schedule if he does that vs. going pro and running a tune-up pro race in early June prior to USAs.

    He should run both. But he has a better shot in the 10k - the 5k is more competitive, I think folks like Nur and Kincaid and Teare are better at the 5k.

    What Adidas shoes does he wear? I hated the Avanti when I wore them. Trainers are fine but I didn't like any of their racer shoes

    Tactical and sub 27 seldom go together.

    NCAA records at 5000 and 10000 and first collegiate under 13:00 and 27:00! That's a pretty good legacy, if he turned pro tomorrow.
