New Mexico: The State keeps track of sales. The month after weed went legal, sales hit 33,000,000$ Thirty-three million dollars! My math isn't real good, but I think every legal driver in the state could have gotten new car with that money!
In my small town in Washington, FOUR different dispensaries popped up over the course of the first 2 years and all seem to be doing well. I honestly have not noticed any change in anything else though. I imagine it's probably easier for young people to try weed than before, but I'm not sure I'm really seeing significant consequences/differences in society.
If you're over 30 and you smoke weed , know that you're a failure .That was something we did in our early 20s , grow up.I now hate the smell of it and it's everywhere

Failure in what regard?
I started weed only after it was legalized. I’m 39, three small kids, make 150k/yr. I partake 3-4 times a week. There is some negatives (memory, anxiety) but hands down it’s a better vice than drinking (which I also do) in almost every regard.

My youngest brother said that spending money is good for the economy. It does not matter what you spend it on. Guess who he voted for in 2016, 2020, and now 2024? Yep, the orange guy.

Literally makes no sense . Yes it is good for the economy but not for the consumer (i.e. you) . Also contradicts what trump stands for , which is not spending money (see art of the deal)
All mind altering drugs should be banned. That includes alcohol. Nearly every crime is related to a mind altering drug, yet we act like it’s no big deal. My goodness is American society stupid.

I only want my religion or political party to alter my mind. Nearly every war is entangled with religious or political matters, yet we act like it’s no big deal. Let’s all raise our water to the one state!
Sounds like this could be a mix of personal preference and experience. Some people swear by it, while others don’t notice a big difference. I’ve found that setting matters a lot—being in a relaxed place makes it better. Also, knowing the right terms helps when talking about it with others. This guide might help:
It’s sort of normal to hear about CA weed shops being robbed now. No longer will I say “oh no, that’s terrible”, instead I’ll say “again??”
This ^^^ and a lot of the weed shops are illegally run; no state approval and don't pay taxes. They keep a lot of cash on hand so easy targets but also staff armed guards. Shootouts and deaths relatively uncommon, but they happen a few times a year.
The black market is also still very active. Less expensive and I'm guessing here, but just as good in terms of quality, but I also see ripoffs, robberies and violent crime stem from it. I don't know the state #s on how much California is making on the legalized side and where it's going. Probably to some DEI or transgender BS fund.
I live in a legal state. I sort of sum up the average person here as from decent schools and quality suburbs so you'll be able to relate.
If the suburb I came from (~40,000) legalized before Colorado, the population wouldve doubled, every ski/snowboard "bro" would have migrated therre to the point where you no longer recognize the place you grew up because of lacking korality and shifting cultural values, the asking price of basic 3bd-2ba homes would have tripled from 2012 to now (1-million) and crime would have risen noticeably and dramatically (including road rage).
Your city center will have become a variant of skid row.
Migration will have outpaced the ability to improve city infrastructure meaning traffic will be madness.
Traffic will be heard from your window from 5:30am onward.
Vagrants, beggars and, even worse, delusional sects will set up shop in your neighborhood.
Big mexican families will live 16 to a 4-person house and put a stranglehold on government supported street work. They will work slow and in the middle of the week / middle of the day.
There would be no more elbow room. Your favorite places to dine will be too crowded. People will speed egregiously because no one is there to stop them.
Michigander here, stuff is cheap in this state. You can usually find sales making 800mg cost you around 20 dollars. I would not say legality has had a bad impact. Lot's of family's have seemed to switch from drinking to taking a gummies when meeting up for the holidays lol
