2:10 for third.
2:10 for third.
True but only under cool weather.

the "and 10 seconds" part is oddly specific.
No it’s not: 2:08:10 is the Olympic standard.
I'd give Fauble 5:1 odds and be willing to bet far more than $1k that 3rd place isn't 2:08:10 or under.
Temps tomorrow in Orlando from high 50s to mid 60s and the Humidity will not be a factor. Although not ideal we should see some fast times.

Rojo is probably correct but it is usually foolish to offer money for something when you have no control over the situation and the potential recipient ostensibly might.
A foolish man and his money are easily parted
There are no pacers.
But some guys will need to take chances.
Most of them will burn.
And maybe...none of them will make it. Marathon is often a game of patience.
Mantz will be sub 2h10.
I would not bet anything on anyone else. Let things play out and I hope I am wrong.
In US marathon history on 5 runners have broken 2:08.10 and now all of a sudden in a non time trial race we are going to add 3 people to that list. Sorry you are wrong Scotty F
dunno about 2:08 n change but I know one damn thing
mantz
futs
faubs
The shape he looks in there's no way he'll even finish.

You do realize he's just trying to talk others into going out too fast?
His best chance is if the leaders hit halfway in 63-64 and then blow up.
This.
My guess: Chelimo is going to take this race early. Mantz and young May follow him, and other 2:09-10 runners might tag along but end up falling back in the second half. I think Galen is going to run a more measured race but age will still get him in the second half.
I believe like Fauble thinks his best play is baiting people out and trying to reel in enough to get third. Unfortunately I do not think he’ll be able to run enough people down.

Nonsense. He’s been keeping up with Mark Zuckerberg in all his workouts.
My take is that a small group is going to go out hard, the excitement and mojo getting to them. They might even get to 30k but they will get caught by the more experienced heads. But that's why the USA trials is a great race and in my opinion far and away better to watch than any paced 'race'.
If wrong, Rojo will pay like Donald J. Trump pays
Trials will be won in 2:11.03. You saw it here first.

Good call
Kind of amazing that Bill Rodgers ran 2:09 with bricks on his feet 50 years ago.

The only thing softer than our shoes today, are the runners wearing them.
