Whats going on with Katelyn Tuohy???

Tuohy had a great run but it has come to an end. She will be a complete nonfactor as a pro.

She will have a very good career. Again avoid the shortcuts. But a US based runner has limits. If she was in Kenya or even Great Britain or Italy (Battocletti and her father, lol) with same natural talent...

I understand what you're saying but a lot of the threads are not constructive criticism. Some of the comments that are made, and threads that are started, are done so with the intent of trolling and are just mean-spirited in nature. There's a difference.

Insecure jackwagons are those that start the threads and make the comments. Same it always was.

So not good includes the 3000 beating Henes and Cranny? Or maybe that does not count? Just need to understand your scale of what is "not good".

Tuohy's PRs are not good as compared to the US pros.

She is a pro now. She is compared to pros. High school is over.

Let's revisit this conversation in a few years.

I think the fandom is weird, but like another poster said, if there is criticism to be had, make it constructive. Katelyn not running January races after a full XC season isn't weird to me. why is there a board on it?

Now that Tuohy is pro, I think it does make commentary around her different. Before this, Tuohy was not pro, and before that she was a high school girl. there have been a lot of comments on high school girls in the past that are horrible on this site, including about Tuohy. I think people get defensive because they are pushing back.

Just to add to this, I want to include some comments that were written about her from posters when she was in high school. so much for golden child status right? So the defensiveness doesn't always come from being a Tuohy Stan, but rather just being sick of seeing girls treated like this.

She isn't in high school anymore. She is an adult on a contract. She gets compared to other pros.

What is going on? She is now a pro. That means she will race 3-4 times a year max. Don’t expect to see her any time soon. Not sure why fans get so overexcited for runners to go pro. Just means they will race so little you start to forget about them.
