You shouldn't travel just to "see the world". It is inherently evil to travel internationally via plane for that when you have people on the internet that are already there and their cell phone cameras can take the photos and videos. Just extremely wasteful and bad for the environment for you to "travel" for no good reason.

And it is also bad for someone to hog and extremely excessive amount of money. The Bible says you should not be greedy.

He did this event years ago as a participant, so I wanted to point that out, since it hasn't been mentioned in this thread.

It's possible he has taken (partial?) ownership of the event so he can take a bigger cut of the money. Or maybe it's like you say, he's just the paid promoter.

In concept, cool I guess if you have the money. In practice, delightfully cringey. I'm picking up Fyre Festival vibes and I love it.

I like the sound of it, but can't imagine doing the Marathon daily. Do the Halfs at daily training pace and just enjoy the cities a little. I know it sounds like a lot of money to the running community, but classic and exotic car driving events can be $10-50k without travel and they fill up.

Just for clarification: the "Great World Race" is a copycat of the authentic event, the "World Marathon Challenge". The organizer/race director of the new event, the "Great World Race", Dave Kelly, as shown on its website, worked as a team doctor in previous "World Marathon Challenge" events. Following the completion of the 2023 World Marathon Challenge, he (possibly with people behind him) did the following malicious actions:

1. copied many paragraphs of the authentic event's website, and pasted them onto his website, without changing a single word.
2. used images of the authentic event that he's been trying to copy on his website without permission.
3. solicited runners who just finished the authentic event in 2023 with his copycat event during 2023 New York City Marathon weekend.
4. generated articles by scraping contents about the antithetic event but injected website link of his copycat event and spread these articles on internet to manipulate search engines and mislead the public.
5. used the exact words of "World Marathon Challenge", which is not only the formal name but also a registered trademark of the authentic event, without permission, to advertise his copycat event through paid ads.

Not sure the role of Ryan Hall in this so-called "Great World Race".
