For 40m, find the marking for the last hurdle for the 400m hurdles, which is 40m from the finish. The hurdle markings are usually color-coded, and the 400m hurdle marks are 35m apart, starting at 45m from the start, with the last one 40m from the finish.
For 50m, find the 400m hurdle mark halfway down the back stretch, which is 250m from the finish (so it would be 50m from the 200 start, or 50m after the 1500/300m start).
For 30m, use the 100m relay exchange zones (typically triangle markings).
For 60m, start at the 100m start, and finish at the last 400m hurdle mark.
For 70m, you can use the distance between 100m relay exchange zones, or you can start at the 110m hurdle start and finish at the last 400m hurdle mark.
I hope that helps.
If you're on a track marked for HS 300m hurdles, the last hurdle will be 10m from the finish, and the penultimate 45m from the finish.
The third women's 100m hurdle mark is at 30m (13 + 8.5 + 8.5), start at the men's 110m hurdle start and finish at the third women's 100m hurdle mark, and you've got 40m.
Some of the others won't work on a track marked for HS 300m hurdles, but the fact that the 3rd women's 100mH mark is at 30m helps. Here would be alternate mark sets:
20m: End of 3rd 4x1 exchange zone to 3rd women's 100mH mark, or 110mH start to end of 3rd 4x1 exchange zone.
30m: Start line to 3rd women's 100mH mark, or any full exchange zone.
40m: 110mH start to 3rd women's 100mH mark.
50m: 3rd women's 100mH mark to start of finish line area 4x200m exchange zone (lane 1 and only if marked for 4x200m relay).
60m: 3rd women's 100mH mark to start of 4x400m exchange zone.
70m: 3rd women's 100mH mark to finish.
80m: End of 3rd 4x1 exchange zone to start of finish line 4x4 exchange zone.
90m: Start line to start of 4x4 finish line exchange zone.
