The talent is fringe All-American types? I guess thats my thing with it, it seems they take on guys who havent flash much more than back of a USA final (if that) talent
Im with you, outside of Drew Hunter, have they ever taken on a runner with super high expectations on them? I'm not saying top talent should ever go there, but if you are a 2nd tier college athlete and just want to give it a crack for a couple of years training at altitude then you could do worse.
I mean people meme on Sam Parsons a lot, but he wasn't close to a top tier talent out of college. He was 3:44/8:03/13:52 in college at NC State and now he is 3:36/7:39/13:12. I'd say Tinman has done a great job maxing out his potential.
Parsons, Fischer and Berriatua are all pretty great progression stories. With their level of funding they aren't going to get the blue chip recruits, and with those 2nd tier guys coming out of college you're gonna hit on what, maybe 1 in 3? I think they're doing ok but they need bodies, it's a numbers game because Nico Young, Graham Blanks and Ky Robinson aren't walking through that door.
