I would say you can compensate for gray hairs by being fit. A skinnier guy, in his 40s, is perceived as younger than the average 40-something body type. Most people with gray hairs are horribly out of shape and their body shape shows it.
Bonus: if you are bald and fit, you can look even younger as the hairs aren't an issue.
Confidence, fitness, and an aura of success is more attractive to high quality women. The experienced gentleman also attracts smart women with their own careers and earnings rather that some little bimbette seeking to leach off of a sugar daddy.
Exude confidence
Stay lean and have some muscle definition.
Dress and groom yourself well - this is super important! Nothing is sadder than a grey haired man schlepping around in a baggy hoodie and basketball shoes like a college boy plus it makes you look older.
In clubs, parties, and office gatherings, show refinement by drinking straight liquor, classic cocktails, or wine. Don't act snobby but, it sets you apart from the boys drinking beers or mixing booze with energy drinks. Added bonus, you don't lose a prospective date because you are leaving her to piss every 20 minutes.
Learn to dance! Women love it and will line up to get on the floor with you. Most young guys won't because they are too self-conscious and you just made yourself the most desirable dude in the place.
Show respect and interest in her - this will distinguish you from the himbos pressuring to close the deal by last call.
I was balding before I reached 30 and that's a tougher sell than a few greys. Dating wasn't an issue because I owned it, kept my hair trimmed very short, and did the things listed above.
The down votes are funny. It tells you those are losers you have no luck with women because of things other than hair on their heads.
I never had bad luck with women but I noticed that when I hit 50 I had more luck with women in their 30's.

I guess I'm good looking- I've been told so but that's subjective.
I think the main issue that I said before is that women change as they mature.
I've had 28-34 year olds tell me that they think guys in their age group are helpless little boys who don't know how to treat a woman.
You said it- grooming and how you conduct yourself.

I'm calling BS on this. If you're only a buck 40 on 5'8" frame - and I believe you said in another thread you're over 60 (?) - you're not getting hot women in their 30's...period
The exception to this would be if you're loaded $$$ - then yes you'll attract some young gold diggers out there, but they're only interested in your dough & not you.
I've had some acquaintances over the years at my gym who were about your age & built like you. They would brag like you on how they can score on all these hot women much younger than them. Funny thing I never saw them with - or - talking to any "hot, young women" at the gym (they talked to a lot of old bags in their age range 😆).
I got tired hearing about them bragging all the time in the locker room, so I started calling out these dudes putting them on the spot. They would make up some phony story that they can get pick up hot, young girls away from the gym. Lol. I then roll my eyes & would challenge them to bring in these young hotties to the gym & show me first hand. And you know what? In over 2 yrs, NONE of these guys have ever brought in any of these so-called "hotties that they claim to be able to pick up on. Now these dudes don't talk to me & avoid me at all costs (imagine that. Lol).
Anybody can say any crap on these threads to try and impress people. 😉

Woman here. No, it is not a death sentence ffs. Most people sprout a few gray hairs in their twenties and more in their thirties. it's fine. Get on with your life. If you don't like the way it looks dye your hair.

Hey FRTB, I would posit that maybe these men didn't want to bring a woman to their place of independence. If you enjoy going to the gym do you DO NOT want to bring a woman to the gym just so a pencil neck like you can see her. The strategy is to spend time together outside of areas of independence UNLESS they also like lifting/getting ripped too.
I am not saying these men were truthful about their escapades (many are blowhards), but rather if you are in this situation you do not mix gym with pleasure. A self-proclaimed "bodybuilder" like yourself should know this.
You make bad judgement calls like coming here for advice on woman. Your "problem" might actually help you.
Above everything else women still want someone that is stable, confident, and can provide stability in their lives. To them it's pretty simple because they are generally a lot smarter emotionally and socially than we are.
My husband was almost fully gray when I met him at 29. He's now 49 and now is getting more white than gray, but no receding hairline. I take gray over bald and honestly hair color is secondary to nice face, nice body, nice personality, nice career, etc.
If you're a woman, though, it's a whole different story. But thankfully modern technology has provided us with hair dye.
