So possibly more mileage than Parker Valby? Wow!
Any double thresholds?

In an interview with Time, Taylor Swift claimed that to prepare for her Eras tour, every day she “‘would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud, fast for fast songs and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs.’” Her set list is 180 minutes. Even assuming an average mile pace of 13:00, she would have averaged over 13 miles of running a day. So clearly, she’s lying. What’s strange is that pro runners are playing along with it. Citius Mag posted about Swift’s supposed training regimen on Instagram, and in the comments pro runners like Nikki Hiltz and Aisha Leer are responding positively. What’s more, there isn’t a single comment questioning the validity of Taylor Swift’s statement. Weird.
The lack of culture about dance and performance and what it takes is unsurprisingly uncanny with this group of supplement popping apes. It is a sad reminder that in this world we have some seriously dumb dudes and sometimes we forget this fact.
Once again, an insecure running nebbish gets his undies twisted over someone famous claiming to do a demanding training regimen. Worse? She didn't do it for the pure sake of running. Like a sobbing six-year-old screaming, "IT'S NOT FAIR!!!, a dedicated 30 mile per week Turkey Trot hero/formerly almost good high school runner comes to a running website demanding that it be proven that a billionaire pop star with billions of adoring fans can train three times more than he can.
This is the sort of sh** that is an embarrassment to the sport. It's probably a bit of exaggeration to further grow the legend of Taylor Swift but, a handful of slight little men takes it as a personal affront to their ego and a lifetime of trying to overcome their inferiority complexes. I doubt that the luminaries of our sport lost any sleep or face over this revelation, but Lord knows a good number of advanced hobby joggers are losing their minds over something that will be forgotten in 48 hours. Oh, God forbid that some Swifties take inspiration from this to get fit while having a good time singing while using their treadmills. I can hear it now, "Lydiard is spinning in his grave! Pre is happy to be dead! Having fun is not allowed and it destroys the purity of running! All must suffer the lonely road and life as I do!!!".
This is what she said to Time magazine:
“I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot,” Swift says. Each show spans over 180 minutes, including 40-plus songs from at least nine albums; there are 16 costume changes, pyrotechnics, an optical illusion in which she appears to dive into the stage and swim, and not one but two cottagecore worlds, which feature an abundance of moss.
In the past, Swift jokes, she toured “like a frat guy.” This time, she began training six months ahead of the first show. “Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud,” she said. “Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs.” Her gym, Dogpound, created a program for her, incorporating strength, conditioning, and weights. “Then I had three months of dance training, because I wanted to get it in my bones,” she says. “I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought.”
People (especially non-athletes) make these kind of statements often in vague ways. They're often not 100% accurate, more like a general idea. It's different to how athletes describe their training in terms of accuracy and specificity, wanting to get it precisely right (mpw, etc).
Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if she was really fit. The shows are physically demanding. 180 minutes with a lot of it being dancing, while being able to sing at the same time without getting too breathless. You have to be fit to manage that.
She probably walked quite a bit and took breaks on the treadmill, but I don't think it's too unreasonable to think that she took the set time on there. If she's on the treadmill for 180 minutes it doesn't really say how much of that was walking (could be a lot if there's a reasonable amount of slow songs) and I doubt she's that precise with it.
A lot of dancers spend hours training a day. It's not the same as running, no, but it's definitely physically demanding.
Can't believe anyone cares about this.
I'm sure that TK has put a few miles on her...
I’m shocked that we’re this far into the thread and haven’t started to debate whether or not Taylor could run a sub 20 5k.
If I ever find myself pissing my pants about Taylor Swift on a running board then I give each and everyone of you permission to gun me down on the street like the degenerate that I am.

She barely dances. My daughter has gone on tour with J Lo as a dancer and they do put in the work, as much as 10 hours a day preparing for tour. But she's not running 13 miles.
Well Taylor is a singer and j lo is a dancer. No one ever accused jennifer of being a great singer. Taylor would have never got a contract as a teen if she wasn’t.

holy crap dude. You must be a worthless person if you a) believe that and b) feel the need to spew your cult member vomit on a post about t-swift.

Say what you want about her anonymously on a running message board but it would be ridiculous for someone like Nikki Hiltz or Alisha Leer to publicly criticize Taylor Swift over this “claim”. People love TS, nobody really cares how accurate these details are and a pro runner’s reaction in the best case gets the runner a tiny amount of positive attention.
LRC: Your average person can run a 5:00 mile and train 100 miles a week.
Also LRC: An extremely driven and gifted person can’t possibly have used a treadmill for 1-1:30 hours a day.
Taylor is ridiculously fit, you have to admit that. These shows are not for the faint of heart and I'm really impressed with her stamina to carry the hours long show. Even before this I figured she had to have done a lot of endurance training for this undertaking.
I'm not sure what's accurate and what is not, but before this article I thought it wouldn't have surprised me if she was putting in Parker Valby levels of cross-training in.
Imagine care enough about Taylor Swift's running tour prep that you pick apart the details like a NASA engineer.
This is actually pretty common. Lots of singers and stage performers (especially broadway performers) run and sing at the same time.

Love this video and hilarious, but this was 6 years ago. She has since put on significant amount of weight and does not look like a gymgoer anymore. Just looks like an average person who isn't obese.

She's lying to millions of people. She's clearly trying to give off the impression that she's working harder than anyone else, but what she's claiming she does is not possible (especially for someone who clearly is not an athlete). She's a soulless industry product, stop worshipping celebrities.
