Actually, they ARE byu freshmen at 19. And at 20, and at 21, and at 22, and at 23, and at 24. They each have many years as freshmen.

Forget age. OSU, Alabama, New Mexico seem to call up best runners in Kenya and invite them to come to the USA, join the XC and track teams, and "attend college." Does anyone ever investigate these Africans (or is it considered RACIST?). Do these people even graduate from a legitimate High School in Africa? Do they take SATs or even understand English well? Do they actually go to class, do HW, take tests, and actually graduate? Do they have legitimate birth certificates? I remember this African guy in HS, was it Edward Cheserek? who was CLEARLY lying about his age. He looked 22-24 as a HS senior. Ya- Stanford has Australians on their teams, but look at the Africans on OSU and the ones who beat Katelyn Tuohy. Its cheating.

Tuohy is done. Several younger runners beat her. Kenyans attend school like everyone else. NAU is worse than a JUCO so it really isn't necessary to attend class in order to pass.

No. They attend better schools than NAU. NAU get guys who can't get admitted to OK State or Iowa State or Wisconsin.

Funny you mention that but according to stats OSU doesn’t have an admission rate that much better than NAU 😂 68% for OSU, 78% for NAU.

NAU is harder to get into than Iowa State. NAU 78% while Iowa St. is at 90%. Wisconsin a little better than all 3 at 60%.

I don't think you understand admission rates. Iowa State's average ACT of admitted kids is 26. NAU's is 22. That means that only idiots are applying to NAU. Nearly none of the admitted students at NAU would have been admitted to Iowa State. Imagine if I told you that 20 distance runners contacted NAU and 5 were accepted on the team. That's 25% even though the 5 all ran 8:50. Then I tell you that 50 guys contacted Rutgers and only 5ngot accepted on the team and the all ran 9:30. Their acceptance rate was 10% as opposed to NAU at 25%.

You can get any age on many foreign birth certificates that you want. $20 bribe usually takes care of it. Used to be a 28 year old college student would say he is younger and then ten years later try to say he is a masters runner for the prize money.

Why should we care? Are you claiming that 30 year olds are faster than 22 year olds? Many world records are set by 20 year olds.

NAU is one of the worst schools in D1. Admission rates have some meaning but not as much as you think. Highly Selective schools have rates below 10% but they reject kids with perfect test scores. Their rates would be 1% if regular kids applied but they don't. NAU standards are so much lower than those of Iowa State or Oklahoma State. Nearly nonoe of the admitted students at NAU would be admitted at other schools. Kids apply to schools that are a good fit. The guys on the NAU team are incredible runners but with 18 on their ACTs, many schools were not an option for them.
