150 years ago was 1873. Toilet paper was invented in 1857. Before that people used, as the inventor of toilet paper called them, "toxic inked papers". "Toxic inked papers" are just newspapers.
you're implying you live decades longer than the mean due to child mortality. the median is only roughly a decade longer. so still 50. half the people longer, half shorter.
that's still due to child mortality, mainly.
They tried lots of times, 10 to 15 kids, and 2 out of 3 ain't bad, from their perspective. But the 3 to 5 that didn't make it seriously runs up the under-50 stiff count.

The adult life expectancy was 55 when you take out child mortality. It is still grim. The other sort of shocking thing is how quickly people died. You would be a healthy 40 year old and get some bacterial infection and be dead in a month. Pretty much everyone in my family tree had 2 or 3 spouses back then if you made it to 45…
and let’s not even talk about how long those average work days were…
Seems like back then, things were better, no tv. No Internet, just living off the land.
Yes, would love to go through world wars and a depression again. Seriously, I think the greatest thing in the world -for me- is the instant availability of entertainment and knowledge (right in my pocket), the ability to quickly test ideas (on a computer), and the luxury of making enough money to live a comfortable and healthy life style while letting machines do most of the mind-numbing or heavy manual jobs that were required of us 150 years ago.

When you take into account the very-avoidable causes of death (e.g. syphilis, rampant alcoholism, poverty) then 55 should be no deterrent. Just be smart, make money, don't catch syphilis, don't be a drunk just because everyone else was.
Massive morphine problem too, starting with civil war vets.

Spanish Flu (covid pandemic) which started in a lab in the United States.

Just how do you avoid the infant mortality? You can't just wave that away unless the terms of this fantasy were cherry picked in your favor. Let's say you somehow could be born 150 years ago, and. . . oops, you died as an infant.
