A hobby jogger is someone who runs without getting paid to do so; this includes 99.99% of all runners on the face of the planet.
Now, back to the OP: my solution is still the one you need. If the running club isn't serving your purposes, then run alone. I prefer running alone because:
1. I decide the distance and pace, not someone else.
2. I run on my schedule, not someone else's. I don't have to adjust my day to meet others, then waste time wait around for the late arrivers to show up, then waste more time standing around chatting afterward.
3. I like running alone amidst a full day of dealing with people.
