That still isn't "we all". Molly has a sizable fan club here, as well as detractors and doubters.
Face it, even you Molly "fans" doubted her
Yeah. That's probably the blinders mentioned above. You think everyone thinks like you because you pay attention to a handful of others in your echo chamber.

Oh so she is only 10 minutes slower than the Action? Dont see how this is good in any way. Hobbyjogger
I thought Sara Hall had the record from her time in Boston at 2:25:48? Or is the Boston course not record eligible?
For a course to qualify for record consideration:
"The start and finish points of a course, measured along a theoretical straight line between them, shall not be further apart than 50% of the race distance." "The decrease in elevation between the start and finish shall not exceed an average of one in a thousand, i.e. 1m per km."
American women didn’t fail. Anti doping failed today. Sorry but averaging 20-30 sec faster per mile than our best marathoners who train their asses off should sound more alarms than it does.
Clearly overrated. 2:23+? That's not gonna get her anywhere as lightning doesn't strike twice in the same place...aka the stars aligned for her at the last Olympics, don't count on that again. Truth be told, she'll be lucky to make the team.
I sat next to her on the plane into Chicago. She had some weird ideas about training mileage. I tried to convince her she needed to increase her miles, but she thought I was strange.
a great race for Molly after all she has had to work through over the last couple of years. Here’s hoping she can keep the train on the rails through February’s trials. Would love to see her in Paris.
See Wejo's post above, even he didn't have faith in Molly to be setting the PB

I'm not a fan but I still wouldn't have "doubted" she could run 10 minutes slower than the winner. 223 on a fast course simply isn't a relevant performance nowadays.

If I tell you this was clever, can you finally consider your “work” on these boards done then go slink back under whatever rock you emerged from?
This was unexpected, Molly Seidel actually set a new PB at the Chicago Marathon 2023 with 8th place at 2:23:07 after we all thought she was washed up and past her best before date with her antics and slow performances at shorter races this year.
In other news, I'm extremely disappointed at Emily Sisson with only a 2:22:09 seeing how she holds the American marathon record and got a lot slower when this was perfect weather. Same goes for Emma Bates and Des Linden, I'm disappointed in both of them for running so much slower than they've done in the past when the Kenyans and Ethiopians are running faster than ever. As usual, the American women are at the bottom of the results as a pack.

Glad you're happy. Congrats Molly👍 I’m sure those other women were satisfied with their day until they read some dude on let's run was disappointed, now they are going home devastated.
I hope she makes the team. Have you looked at the Paris course map? There is a lot of elevation gain with more than 400m! Molly excels on hard courses like NYC or the 2020 trials. She's be an absolute asset to have in paris. People like Sisson who are incredibly fast have not shown as much potential on hilly courses.
