If you don’t think 9.89 is possible clean by an adult then you are very delusional and if you apply the same bar to every other event then I wonder why you’d be interested in the sport at all!
You don't think doping in sports is very interesting, when it's everywhere?

I understand those who accept that doping is an inevitability and enjoy the sport regardless. In other sports (which I might add are way dirtier than track and are purposefully tested very loosely) the fans do not talk this much about doping. But regardless of that, to think 9.89 is not a cleanly attainable time by any human is honestly pure stupidity. You're saying it's impossible to run 9.89 without using a substance or method on the WADA banned list? When people go that far with their beliefs it makes me wonder what you actually think the human body can do, because that's a pretty low limit. Anyone with any experience in sprinting is not going to agree with that statement, even those with lived experiences of many around them doping.

It isn't the 9.89 of itself that shows he's a doper - it's that he leaped from being only a little faster than the best woman sprinter - but utterly mediocre for a male - to being world-class in a matter of months, and as a mere teenager.
Months? Or a year? It's like everytime a slow nonwhite person runs a fast time they're doping. But if a white person comes out of nowhere with fast times it's never question and "they've just been training really hard". This site is a joke, always a good laugh reading all the whiny comments.
I knew he was on drugs when he ran that super quick time.Teenagers cannot run 9.89 naturally.I dont even believe a clean fully adult man can run that fast, naturally.
Houston McTear ran 9.0 100y as a teenager (equivalent to ~ 9.80 100m.) The consensus was McTear was clean.

A 9 flat 100yd hand-time does not convert to 9.80 in an open FAT 100m dash. Maybe a 9.80h, which does not covert to sub-10. McTear was fast but you are either his contemporary or a distance runner to have such a loose concept of timing.
Carl Lewis ran 9.92 in Seoul. Wasn't he covered up by USADA at the time? And Asinga ran faster than that.
lewis had something like cough medicine ingredients covered up. i think it might even be the case that whatever he had in him wouldn't even be illegal today.
You mean the cough medicine ingredients that could've been used to mask other doping? Let me fix that second line for you...
i [sic] think it might even be the case that whatever he had in him that showed up on the doping test wouldn't even be illegal today.
Other than that Lewis was as pure as the driven snow......
Oh no I agree with that, all of my comments weren't about Asinga but were replying to the " I dont even believe a clean fully adult man can run that fast, naturally."

You don't read very widely on this site. White athletes have also been discussed in doping threads. But, unsurprisingly, few of them feature in the sprints.

Sounds like you are not a contemporary. If you were you would know he ran those times on dirt and cinder tracks wearing heavy leather spikes. Put that into your "calculation." Some generations just seem to be weak in analytical thinking. Are you Ventolin's child?
