Are you kidding me, tons of people go to the bank. This is news to you?
You have a bank? Do they have paper money and coins? Like in the old days?

Have you ever read up on Asberger Syndrome?
But more to the point, why are you so sure Lyles won’t break 19.40? He’s done it before and his last 200m race was promising.

That's honestly so slow, I'm a distance runner and could probably go faster than that at the end of a race.
9.65 for a world championship 100 is not fast, it's just not.

There's like 30 banks in my small town and they all have a line on Mondays and Fridays.
You’re getting trolled by some non literal snarky twenty-something and they don’t even have to try.

Predictions like this never go well. Remember when Marion Jones said she would get 5 gold medals in Sydney? I wish Gabby Thomas didn't tell everyone her goal was a gold medal. They often jinx themselves.
bro what kind of comparison is this?
"oh no, she didnt get 5 golds, she only got 3 + 2 bronze medals"
Gabby won't win gold obviously but still lol
people so mad in this thread over runners saying what their goal is
When Bolt ran 9.58, I thought he would go sub 19. Turns out he was better at the 100m. I think Lyles has a shot at the 200m world record. 9.65 is less likely, but why not go for it?
Usain Bokt getting the record and running 9.72 in early 2008 was a shock to me.
Fred Kerley getting an Olympic Silver in the 100 in 2021 and a WC Gold in 2022 after getting a 400m medal in 2019 was a shock to me.
Lyles going for 9.65 having a 19.31 200m PR isn’t out of the question considering that.

When athletes talk this big, is it because they're already doing it in training or what?
Delusion can be found at all levels.

my guess is he is basing it on doing better workouts than he was during his previous PRs.
probably throwing down the gauntlet cause he had his nails done. Hard to wear a gauntlet over that.

Chance of him hitting these times? I think 9.65 is way out of reach for him. Maybe he gets the record in the 200m but no way he runs a full 0.09 better than it. I’d say 5% chance he gets 9.65 and 1% chance he runs 19.10
He’s gotta be pretty confident with that kind of pre-race talk but as the old saying goes “Pay less attention to what a man says. Just watch what they do”.
Funny that he might, in the end, be closer to 10"10 in the 100m and 19"65" in the 200m.
One thing is for sure, I love to see the second part of his 200m races when he starts to fly away.
it would be great if Lyles gets near those predictions. I look forward to seeing how he goes.
I would predict 9.82-9.92 for a lesser medal in the 100 and a SB/gold in the 200 but he stays at #3 all time (19.27-19.46).
I would like to see Tebogo beat him in the 200 with a super fast time.
