I always wondered why some schools such as the University of Hawaii, for example, didn't have better sports teams. It would be kind of hard to turn down a scholarship especially if they had a great coach come to town.
Who is going to train hard when you have the beach? You could say the same thing about why the ivies and Stanford can't recruit enough to dominate in most sports.
Realistically given the drama, he is going to be a tough sell for most schools. Nobody cares enough about their track program to want to put up with the headache.
And if you were a 3:34 guy going pro, would you want a guy with zero experience at the next level as your coach?
