Probably both are Republican given where they are from.
That is a pretty stupid comment but I’m accustomed to reading stupid comments from you.
You can’t tell the political party of someone based on where they’re from. Sumner’s mom is black and his dad is white and they are east coasters that went to and ran track at Villanova. They live in the metro Atlanta area - a pretty blue area to live in. They’re also cultured. Will plays the piano and plays Chopin. They could be Republicans but if I were betting, I would say not.
I'm not a fan of Flatt. I thought college track would flatten him, and I was right. People with steady characters are more predictable. Colin Sahlman seems to be a better bet than maybe/maybe not Cade Flatt.
But seriously, the dude was on top of the world 6 months ago, and you were all on the bandwagon.
This is the problem with this website's obsession with high schoolers. These athletes are literally kids, and when they go through a rough patch, you guys rip them to pieces and throw them away like garbage.
It's not a very healthy environment in which to develop long term prospects.
I think Cade has been negatively affected by an injury. This happens to some runners and can take a while to get over. I suspect it's far too early to write him or the other kid off.
Hey haters have you ever heard of injuries? That’s very likely the case why can you fkers be so negative about a young kid grow up and get a fkn life hobby joggers.

Often times on this board when people are posting negative things about a young athlete, you will see things like “seems like a nice kid and I hope the best for him but . . .” No one seems to be saying this much in the thread. I would assume that this is in large part due to things like his Let’s Run interview where he came across as cocky and said that he achieved his high school times while running some ridiculously low mileage like 5 miles per week. Few people believed this to be true. It is one thing to be a cocky kid — not uncommon for star athletes. It is another to flat out lie to someone as if they are stupid. It does not engender much fan support.

I don't comment much so I do not see where you are coming from and this was a rare one where I was likely off the mark with Sumner. I do believe that Flatt would have been a 1:45 guy last year had he graduated in December and headed to Ole Miss while Vanhoy and the 2022 distance squad was there. But he was chasing the record and it is a formidable one. As a previous poster opined, Granville went downhill from there, but apparently with a lot of extenuating circumstances from his previous training/family situation in high school.
