Cheruiyot is going to be a star. Great run, and smart of him to back off before the final turn and tuck in before attacking again in home straight. Impressive running for a guy who is only 18 years old, officially. Wouldn't be shocked if we see him on the podium in Budapest this year.
Cheruiyot was impressive. Ran a few extra meters throughout the race but at the finish it seemed like it was never in doubt. Kipsang is obviously in good form too but couldn’t shake the new arrival nor compete with his kick.

Has a very explosive last 150. Yet to be tested in an international sub-3:30. Can't wait.
Beatrice Chepkoech opened up a gap on Faith Cherotich early which got up to about 4 seconds and held on to win in 9:13, a second and change ahead of Cherotich I think. Great performance given the altitude and solo running. I was annoyed with the camerawork because it was apparent that Chepkoech was tiring and the race wasn’t in the bag, yet they focused the shot in such a way as to just keep Cherotich out and make it so you couldn’t tell if she was closing down. All too typical.
