Flotrack has no clue or intel on who the guys running actually are. How they let guys do a DMR call that do not know the difference between Murphy on anchor vs O'Donavan, just are not around the sport at all, and have no clue. Not fair to them or the viewers. I should have done this. Cade Flatt? I presume another 48.x leg in his portfolio? It ain't looking any better for him. Good race, I though Murphy went all in..just a little early, but was gonna get covered up if he did not.

It's quite possible they were using the names listed on the live results website, which aren't the most up to date as the relay cards are not entered until the meet is over.
I thought I might hear this..from some folks..BUT..this is a $30.00 buy. You need to have guys who know who these people are it cannot be..a all purpose announcer.
Give me Merber and company
Personally ,I do not need the volume..I know who the guys are in most races. But for someone who was a fringe fan..ouch...on those calls.

Don’t think fringe fans are spending $30 for Flotrack to watch Penn.

You are right..wrong term was used. I should have said..NOT a die hard...there are some folks who watch Penn for all of the events..and this is a part of that.It still was called wrong..but again, they are calling HS 4 x 1's..maybe a bit critical on my part, because I only care about high level 4 x4's and up. You were right.
I find it funny that the meet is running ahead of schedule, which I guessing is due to the number of DNSes due to the cold rainy conditions that are going on there right now.

They are also rapid fire pushing it along..as best they can, Buddy of mine told me. Just called me from New Deck Tavern with a couple of Penn Relay Luminaries..
I’m currently debating if I should go back tomorrow. Was planning back to back day trips but the conditions today sucked as a spectator so i can’t imagine how they were as an athlete. It got unusually chilly too. But race of the day was by far the hs boys 4x8. Unfortunately times weren’t fast today across the board but that finish delivered

The officials at this meet always try to push it along. on Thursday, the meet was up to 30 min behind schedule since the events were taking longer than expected. Granted, I think it’s the meet organizers who did not allow enough breathing room in the schedule for that. given how Saturday’s weather is going to be pretty much the same as Friday’s, I wonder how slow some of the CoA finals are going to be. I bet they will move the pole vault inside again.
Looks like the last leg turned into a kicker's race ... 12:04 after 3 legs with sub-16 still on the table and the anchors run 4:10s. Nova wins in 16:14.03. Very disappointing after the hype. I have no idea what the conditions were, but other guys ran pretty fast on the first 3 legs. I think Gary Martin ran 3:58.
The officiating has been questionable at this meet. About half the Javelin kids javelins didn't meet inspection. Kind of odd since most kids use the same javelins at meets and didn't have any issues at previous meets.
