Thanks again for the replies, certainly a case of "Maranoia" i am hoping. To answer one of the questions, about knowing how i feel, i feel stronger on the long runs and not as quick on the short ones. So i am in the middle ground. Starting to get paranoid about sub 3hr attempt in a couple of weeks. Missed out in Berlin with 3:02:37, i did have a bit of illness the weeks before and was averaging 40mpw. Also i did stop to help someone up just before the Bradenburg Gate (admittedly i knew the sub 3 was gone at this point).
Have done 50 mpw average so far with 14 weeks of training. I am worried if i have done enough long runs?
Havent raced much but done Half Marathon 1hr22min24 (not a PB), 5K 18:20 (also not a PB). Think i am just paranoid and i am going to be ok, but worried as my Half and 5K PBs, all came in Berlin build up and i was short then.
Buddy, you're good! Lower your Half PB to under 1:20 and let the rest go. The key to any Marathon barrier is to see how fast your Half is. It's about what you're capable of tolerating and for how long. If you have 3 weeks before Race day, I'd suggest a 20-22 mile long run. If It's two weeks or less. I'd say taper with a Sub-1:20 Half and do small runs until then. Nothing guaranteed tho!
Zersenay Tadese hit the HM WR of 58:23 4 weeks before his London Marathon of 2:12. Disappointing compared to his Half BUT, It proves that not everyone fits for the Marathon regardless of PB.

Under 1:20? Not necessary. My 1:23 PR was good enough for 2:52. But maybe I'm just the opposite of Tadese.

Well thats maybe where some of my paranoia is coming from, before Berlin i did a 1:20:25 on the Great North Run which is a tough route and i still bonked :-(

I ran a 1:30 half, and a 3:02 full, you have it in the bag.

I ran a 1:30 half, and a 3:02 full, you have it in the bag.
1:30 half = 3:13 marathon. For most people at least.
I am sure nobody is really bothered haha, but just to round off the post thought would check back in. Turns out, I was a little overly paranoid. Finished in 2hrs54mins20secs in Manchester on Sunday (flat course, similar to Berlin with a few more hills). Turns out it was just a bad day for me in Berlin last year. Thanks to all the replies and hope it helps with anyone else stressing before a big race.
