This is a reflection on the people who do these podcasts as well. You can't count the number of times during an interview with many of the current track and field athletes that the word "like" is used. Once you hear it, you can't "un-hear" it. Not to mention the ever present dangling preposition, i.e. "he/she's happy with where their training is at", as opposed to just happy with their training. Countless examples of this as well. This is why I enjoy listening to the network folks like Ato Bolden, Paul Swangard, and few others. Tim Hutchings is great, especially in the marathon.
She sounded like a 13 year old valley girl. Kept using words like “legit” and “totally” and due to her giant ego had to make way too many references to herself and her own career. I hope that we never have to listen to her again. I seriously turned the sound down when she came on.
At this point just admit you don't like hearing women's voices.
This "criticism" might have some merit if male announcers were any good at all, but when you listen to flotrack, mile split and runnerspace they are awful too but there aren't threads on them.
Actually there are. People complain about announcers at pretty much every single major track meet, regardless of gender.

Pretty much this. I thought she did fine.
No she is terrible. Just because she is female doesn't make her good. Kara Goucher is a great female announcer. Colleen was so annoying that I had to mute it every time she came on. There are some bad male announcers as well... Bill Rodgers.
More disturbing was the consistent use of poor grammar by all of the announcers.
" There IS a lot of guys here tonight..." NO!
There ARE a lot a lot of guys here..."
PLURAL subjects use a verb in the plural form!
Where did these people go to elementary school , let alone HS and college?!
Shouldn't the verb agree with the singular "lot" rather than the plural "guys?" If so, she was correct.
NO. The subjectt is "guys."
One could say, "There are guys here tonight..."
In fact one might say at some point, " There are guys here tonight that beieve that they will make the World's standard, or the Olympic standard in the 10,000." (For example).
