So Valby’s in. Interesting. Cook’s in. Interesting.
Neither of them competing in their Conference Championships.
Well, it’ll be a lot of fun to watch a weekend of racing coming soon!
I’m SOOOO glad that Tuohy chose the “redemption” 3k/5k route! Now it’s just a matter of how well does she adjust things for the high altitude. ALMOST mile-high is not a joke in distance. It sneaks up on ya. Game on!
This is the smart decision to have Tuohy run the 5k/3k double especially in light of the meet being at altitude and the unknowns around that. Looks like plenty of alternates for the DMR so someone will sub for her. Maybe next year with some help coming from the NY high school recruits that are mid-distance runners. Boss lady Henes knows best!
Who among Napoleon, Putman, Hall and Quarzo will run any of 55 2:05 3:20 or 4:35?
Assuming they stay in school, you'll have Bush, Tyynismaa, Touhy +400 with Shaw, Starliper? and Hartmann (now already at 4:39) in reserve.
I quite like the incoming class, but they are typical pack recruits, more like Rauber, Bush, Hartman and E Henes that will need to develop.
Watch for Rauber to emerge this spring in the steeple. She is willing and able in that event and can build on investment made in her mile speed.
Also Parker Valby, who didn't run SECs, is entered in the 3K, while Georgia phenom Will Sumner just made it in the 800. Plus find out what it took to make the meet.

Napoleon already ran a 2:06 outdoors as a junior. Both her and Putman have run 2:50 or better at 1k. Not sure about 3:20 at the 1200 but they probably be better than Shaw's 3:25.

Someone that can run 2:06 in high school can also usually run 56-57 in 400. I think Shaw is out of eligibility next year - not sure on Bush. No idea where things are with Starliper.
I'm working on a prediction contest website based on the projected entries, I plan on adding some more features before 'officially' releasing it (probably tomorrow) but posting here for you to try, the server should be working and accepting team submissions.
You pick three per event on your team, but only two score, the third is used as a backup. I used AI to generate the athlete images and some other things, so some might look strange, let me know if there are issues and / or if this is something people would be interested in, or if you have any ideas. Also if anyone wants to contribute a prize for the winner (otherwise it will be just for fun), let me know!

Cole sprout literally hasn't ran in two weeks per his strava (he has posted x training), can he really be expected race?
Yes . . . he's back to land running . . . don't underestimate the value of cross training . . . Cole has another 10 days to get his legs toughened up . . .
Olemomoi definitely going to spring a surprise, I think. She looks better and better in every race I've seen her in.
I agree with the sentiment. She did not look as great in the SEC 3k but who knows, just one race. Plus, she and Chelangat will be able to work together. Also, being from altitude and used to racing at altitude in Kenya will help.
