Lol yeah there are plenty of college coaches that might be fired because they aren’t intelligent but that’s not Prime. He might get fired for any number of other reasons though.
Yeah, it’s not Alabama or Ohio State, it’s Colorado, one of the worst power 5 teams in the country and a fan base that doesn’t expect much. So the bar is not set very high. He’s not going to be expected to win a national or even conference championship. Just getting to 6-6 and making a bowl game by year 2 or 3 would be “success”. With the level of talent he can recruit off his name, that seems doable.
Several former Colorado Buffalo players have stated that since the decided to depart, the coaching staff has barred them from accessing practice film from last season.
Colorado Buffaloes tight end Zachary Courtney entered the transfer portal last week and is claiming that Deion Sanders is not allowing him to have access to his practice film.
I dont think this is all that uncommon during a coaching change. This is a big coaching change. The son comes in and is all of a sudden what people are talking. Again, this is a big change for the program and Deion owes nothing to people who dont want to change.
Colorado Football is a bad job. They do not win. Prime will recruit very well for the position. Listen to him and you know that he will inspire his players and they will play hard for him. Knowing that he is one of the greatest CBs ever, plus the fame, will and does motivate his players. If he has any success against the odds of that program (was it Gary Barnett who last had a good season there?), he'll jump to much better program and location for him. He did things at Jackson State that no one thought were possible for an HBCU in this day and age.
You think replacing players from 1-11 team is a bad thing?
It’s not a bad thing for winning, but does it prove that he’s actually a good coach?
I really just feel bad for the players that may have actually been pretty solid but didn’t even get a chance to EARN a spot.
Head coaches don’t do most of the day to day coaching. Coordinators and position coaches teach the fundamentals and head coach manages them, manages the games and leads/manages recruiting. If he’s got good coaches working for him who buy into whatever culture he’s got, then it’s really about the talent he can bring in and he’s good at self promotion and has strong name recognition. He only needs a couple dozen of the right kids and they can compete. I’m guessing they’ll at a minimum be top 25 team consistently within a couple years.
