What does not accept mean? He had good domestic results half marathon & under but ran 2:17 in NYC. More value to bring on a handful of domestic runners for the same price tag for a guy that won't contend right up front. I can see not wanting to pay an appearance fee/travel/lodging for a US runner who would've been seeded 15th. I assume you can get a bib & run if you're willing to get there yourself & are a sub-2:15 runner. I also can't imagine that Boston is paying for every single American runner over 2:15 & 2:40. Maybe they are -- that would be really cool.
Korir still has options -- Rotterdam/Hamburg. Would have been good to see him in Boston. Idk how these things work but you would think someone like him could sign a deal with Boston/London to be one of the first fill-in runners. You know not everyone makes it to the start line. There must be a way to guarantee you can get in on the list of names announced the week or two before the race.

Well, I am sure they would give her a pen-1 spot, but they aren't interested in paying her. That is what the article is about. Obviously she could run these marathons, the question is where can she also get a big paycheck. She isn't running for the fun of it. She can't afford to race for free.

It would be wonderful if not getting into races because your biological passport was suss as hell, actually helped to drive down the doping. That would be a good way to dissuade people from using PEDs.

lots of suspicions about her in South Africa where she races, running for a club which has had over 10 doping cases over the last decade will not help. WADA are not daft.

Maybe even less desirable than a 220s East African. The slower runner, you can pay less of an appearance fee without seeming like a cheapskate. A 217 East African with no social media presence doesn't excite anyone outside of East Africa and a few track fans who want to see a world record. The days when East Africans It might not even excite anyone in her home country. I looked to see if there were even a marathon in Ethiopia she could run and it looks like there is not. Whelp there is always Dubai.

Biological passport are not public right? They really shouldn't be anyway. In the US at least, that would violate HIPAA wouldn't it?
