Can he get top 3 at the trials for one? 2 heats before the final isn't fun and the goose is skinny so in tactical races might be a problem but if they just go fast he'll just win.
And is there anyone else in the world that could've run that time in the same position? Does anyone think Kerr would've been there at the end?
Noah Ngeny got full drafting off of El Guerrouj in that 3:43 race as well. Does that make him a scrub or something?
Yes it does. Many runners in history could have run 3:43 if they had taken advantage of El Guerrouj’s races. Ask any reputable source like Kellog how much drafting saves per lap.

So Jakob is getting 0 advantage from drafting? El Guerrouj also got 1200m of drafting from pacers. Disingenuous argument. No one is solo frontrunning 3:43 from the gun
Jakob got 900, El Guerrouj got 1200. Simple math is not for the avg letsrun user
Never claimed otherwise. You continue to miss the point, of course. Name all the many other runners in history who could've run 3:43 with full drafting. Lagat? Kiprop? Sure. Maybe 2020 Monaco Cheruiyot. None of this undermines the fact that Nuguse is worth better than 3:28 in a 1500.

Eh I think it’s a little bit of A and a little bit of B. Nuguse is in rare company so it depends on what you mean when you say “many” (maybe 10-15?) but I do think Kerr could do it, yes, and maybe Wightman. Tim Cheruiyot certainly in his 2017-2021ish form. That’s from the currently active crop.
The point is simple to understand: It's easy to run fast when you are behind someone the entire race. Nuguse's time means nothing if you can't beat the person pacemaking you. Had Jakob been paced the same way as El Guerrouj, he would have the world record.

This is true, I remember the time Chris Christie ran 9.59 for the 100m and some people were impressed. If you do it outside of the race where Bolt runs 9.58 I'll respect it, until then Chris stick to running in those primaries you like so much.

Isn't this board that posted a long thread "The Most Obvious Doper of All Times" with hundred of posts and still people continue to not open their eyes about the obvious facts about Katir?
I can side with with Nuguse just by the fact he is a first or second East African immigrant. If I see him siding "uncle Same" projects, he can count on my farewell support.
Well I always knew that Katir guy was clean, just as you say here. Why did those morons say he was cheating? Jealousy I guess.
