Sister went to a woke all-girls HS, I went to a more normal all-boys one. They had a few transgender self-identified males (biological females) who did track but were slow
Pretty sure no boy at Dover HS in New Hampshire has run faster than 2:34.24 in the marathon. (16 year old Cathy Shiro). Or any boy in the whole state, for that matter.
This wasn't the question, but I found it interesting: the age 11 girls' 100m record (11.75, Payton Payne) is faster than the age 11 boys' record (11.86, Nyckoles Harbor). Granted, Payton Payne had a 1.6 tailwind compared to Harbor's 0.1.
Also a fun one given that Mr. Harbor, presumably the same one, is now one of the fastest young men in the United States.
It's odd to me that so many of you think that this possibility is so unlikely.
In 2003 Paula Radcliffe ran the marathon faster than any male did in the United Kingdom. FACT.
If that [ a female being faster than all he males in a specific running event ]can happen in an entire country with a proud distance running tradition than it certainly could happen at one small school and certainly has happened.
Okay before people jump on me- to clarify yes that was for a single year! And y'all are talking about all time School records. So yes there is a distinction there. However my example still holds weight as it was for an entire country as opposed to a very small area or school of which many exist.
Some schools that are majority African-American the runners focus on the Sprints and the distance records are very weak. In such a situation it would not be surprising to have a random good female distance Runner be better than the boys.
I agree. There are many small schools with records areound 5 minutes for 1600 and 11 minutes for 3200. All it takes is one good girl to run faster there.
A properly balanced high school will mean the fastest girl is (100 to 150) fastest in the school, all time including boys and girls. At my high school, fastest girl one mile (not 1600m) was in 5:01 to 5:04 range. I am sure in the history of my high school well over 100 boys raced one mile or 1600m faster than low 5 minutes. Do we want our daughters' and sisters' to be superior to our sons' and brothers'? Do we want a country with most Army & Marine riflemen & machine gunners are girls?
I've decided to retroactively reidentify as gender fluid when I was in high school (I wasn't getting any back then anyhow, so who is to say otherwise). Now I have both records.

Quite obviously because it doesn't happen at any other age group and is probably rare in other events too, even at pre-puberty ages.
It’s just a question of distribution. There are some small schools here in the Sacramento with non-competitive boys’ track records.
At least in track, HS boys are about 10-11% faster than girls. I don’t know why some LRers are so obsessed with comparing them.
It should be looked at as per-school records for that very reason. The records should be compared nationally or, at the very least, state by state.
Is there any state or national record where a female running the exact same event has a faster state/national record than the male? I don't know the answer but I do know it shouldn't be compared at the individual school level.
Sorry that facts bother you. If a high school has a faster record for girls than boys, do you want to somehow eliminate the girls' record?
That isn't what I said. Of course the record is the record.
I'm saying if we are looking for events that have a faster girl's record than boy's we shouldn't look at an individual school to make the conclusion that girls are better at that specific event because a single school could be an outlier.
The OP is looking to find an event that girls can run faster than boys, not just one-off school records. That means that on a wider level the girl's record is faster than the boy's. Not just that one school once had a fast girl in the event and never had fast boys. That would be an outlier that should be eliminated.
