She should go to NAU. Mike Smith will set her straight. Transition from part-time to a full-time runner at altitude is her recipe for multiple collegiate records and individual championships.
For the people saying Valby won't transfer, why? People seem to decidedly be against the idea of her transferring but no one has put forth any compelling theory or evidence why she wouldn't move after her coach left.
Her tan would suffer if she went to Oregon. Going to Cali would lower her IQ. She should stay in Florida for her tan and it is a Red State. I believe she is a card carrying conservative with strong morals.
everyone thinks Solinsky makes Valby but it seems to me that Valby is incredible and he simply just doesn't break her. (still something many coaches struggle with recognizing and understanding so props to him, but she will likely be fine without him as long as whoever comes along next understands what Solinsky understood, if Mike even lets them close)

- she's at least an academic Jr, probably even closer to graduation. Makes sense to finish undergrad at Florida, then transfer for grad school.
- While most runners think of xc as the main team season and track just for individual glory, Florida actually wins NCAA team track and field championships! Valby's 8-20 points are a big part of that.
- Valby is a Fl girl, she is happy there.
- new coach capable of changing the light bulb and plugging in the elliptical.
Lately, UCLA has already landed two transfers in the portal via Mia Barnett and Sam McDonnell (former Newbury Park runner for Brosnan). They are not done however, as they are trying to take a crack at getting Parker Valby as well. We all know Valby may leave Florida for Oregon after this semester but UCLA wants a shot at her too.
If she isn't transferring mid-semester, the new NCAA rules prohibit her from entering the portal until March 1st.
There is a ZERO percent chance she will transfer mid-semester because Florida is the HEAVY favorite to win both indoor and outdoor NCAAs. There's probably never been a team more favored to win than Florida right now.
Jasmine Moore - 20 points
Talitha Diggs - 10 points
4x4 - 10 points with Diggs, Texas' anchor leg just transferred to UF as well as Oregon's achor leg and a member or Arkansas NCAA winning 4x4
Grace Stark - scored 15 points indoors in 2022 (1st in 60h, 4th in 60)
Valby - At least 6 points in the 5k, maybe can double and score 6 more in 3k or 10k
Barrett and Wilkinson - should be able to score 5 points total (both finalists in 800)
Bryant scored indoors and outdoors in the LJ
Transfer Flannel from Texas is a 11x All-American
They have a stacked recruiting class and more very good transfers.

Yeah, but if she transfers to UCLA, with Barnett and McDonnell coming in, they could be in the top 7 in the region and have an outside shot to qualify for NCAA's in cross. That has to be tempting!
