I was speaking for the general fan who wanted to see him perform. I am not disappointed by any of their injuries in the sense that it does not impact my quality of life for sure but some fans seem to get disappointed by an athlete’s injuries. So let us say you are a Saints fan (as you are) in their SB win year and Brees gets hurt before the big game and they lose. His injury could have been a disappointment to a Saints fan.
👎 no. I was definitely disappointed in the referees in the playoff game that the Saints lost to against the Vikings.
Not chokes but Hocker and Teare were disappointing to some. Galen Rupp even to some was disappointing. Some even were disappointed by Gidey’s marathon which I did not understand. Brazier was disappointing to some. Devon Allen DQ left some disappointed in the officials. Many were disappointed by their experience in Eugene.
I'm sorry if Brazier disappointed anyone. I guess a heal injury that requires surgery can do this.
Our long distance incl. steeple runners at worlds: no medal in front of the home town. I guess I got spoiled in recent years, and expected more from our Olympic medalists, sub-13, sub-14:30 and sub-27 runners.

And how many Olympics have YOU run in? None? Yet you were "expecting more" from others?
Thw biggest CHOKE by far belongs to USATF and their failure at filling the seats at the WC meet. Talk about gouging ticket prices. Sad to see so many open seats on the home stretch in a smaller stadium. Post meet party zone was nonexistant. 2016 US trials was a much better experience.
Biggest dissapointment for me was the start confusion in the mens 110HH. I was fully expecting a sweep and not sure of the order. It would have been so easy for the officials to call a no DQ using some common sense. Happens all the time, but NOooo, some ego mad official had to be right.
Anyone watching the mens SP warmup had to be a little dissapointed for Kovacs. I dont know whether to call that a choke or just bad timing.
I understand that it’s good to be honest about performances and hold ppl accountable but really, an end-of-year award for biggest choke?!
Couldn't agree more.
Actually you are both wrong. A message board which lately has been filled with probably 50 threads titled Songs about god knows what desperately needs some running discussion. This is another running topic which makes sense at the end of the year. Most are listing disappointments anyway as injuries and other circumstances play a huge role.

THIS is accurate. I wish it had been held in a different city. Somewhere like LA would've been successful. I think they're hosting an upcoming championship so good luck to them and I hope it's a different experience to Eugene which I think just wasn't suited to hosting a major championship unfortunately.

Well we were asked about our disappointments - see thread title. There can't be any disappointment if one doesn't expect anything.
The biggest choke job and disappointment was you and your brother’s lack of reporting on the Solinsky to Oregon story. Seriously, it’s been almost 2 weeks since the first message board post about it. How do you guys not have an interview with Solinsky and/or Schumacher by now, including an update on Valby’s plans?? Please, do your job!
Americas 800m men were disappointing as a whole. This wasn’t a string year for 800m running world-wide and yet we still had no one relevant internationally, despite Murphy, Hoppel, and Brazier having the talent to be medalists
Murphy’s career as a whole has been kind of disappointing after 2016. I thought he’d be like a mix of Centro and Coe after his clutch bronze/1:42 performance at 21, but now he’s gotten last in the 2019 WC 800m final, the 2021 Olympic 800m final, and didn’t make the team in 2017 or 2022.
Nobody choked more this year than the Republicans in the election! That was the worst choke job in 20 years! So much talk of a "red wave" and the only thing we saw were red faces of embarrassment!
