Thanks for posting. Really hope he is OK and doesn't have long term health problems as a result.
Also always helps me sleep better at night knowing the trolls of the lets run forums are always diligently solving the world's problems in the comments section..
Always need to keep your head in a swivel. Similar to running in congested areas, hot to watch out for wild life and crazy ffffrrrsss. Sucks, but literally always need to be aware.
Exactly. Are people supposed to walk around any public area guns out, safety off because someone might suddenly jump out at you? Violent crime is awful but we don't need millions of paranoids wandering around armed in a defensive posture.
And this is the precise situation the "stand your ground" activists hope for when they show up to restaurants or other business establishments openly carrying. This is not to say all people who own guns or believe in open carry do this; i am specifically referring to the intent of the demonstrators.
SEATTLE, Wash. — A man is in critical condition after being stabbed while out for a jog in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood Tuesday. Seattle police said a man called 911 at 8:48 a.m. Tuesday and said he had been stabbed. The incident happened on the South Ship Canal Trail near the intersection of 3rd Avenue North and Etruria Street in North Queen Anne.
Was this cat nearly stabbed or stabbed nearly to death?
Your subject line is confusing
I checked a few news sources and they say the runner is a college student in his early twenties, and was stabbed "multiple times" but with two stab wounds , and was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in "critical condition." He is expected to recover and is I believe they said he was to be released soon.
I think this is important to mention to runners and was discussed a little bit in a Reddit discussion of this attack- the runner was carrying his cellphone and this may have saved his life since he was able to call 911 and get assistance quickly.
The fact that the assailant did not take his cell phone leads the victim's father to conjecture if this was a targeted attack rather than a robbery. The Seattle Police blotter states that it may be a targeted attack or a robbery. The victim doesn't remember much about the attack and the police are hoping he recalls more as he recovers from the trauma. And of course, there is a desperate plea for anyone knowing or seeing anything regarding the incident to come forward.
As per the father, the student at Seattle Pacific Univ. runs this route regularly, and it happened just a half mile from campus.
This must be a devastating time for the runner, his family and friends. Our thoughts are with them and we are hoping for a fast and complete recovery.
You know, I have been thinking about this terrible incident more and in reading and watching the news reports, including the interview with the father, it is donning on me how for those of us in this area, this is our community and our people.
If the runner or the father reads this, which may be entirely likely that they might, please let us know if we can help in any way. Nothing can un-do what happened but if anything can be done that could make it less awful or help in any way, please say so and we can figure out a way to connect in a way not necessarily on the message board.
