Should a PGA golfer who has a membership at Augusta National be forbidden from playing the Masters? Playing golf on your home course is a MUCH greater advantage to a pro golfer than running on your home course is for a college CC runner. Arnold Palmer helped to design the Laurel Valley CC a few miles from his hometown and then played the PGA Championship there. He finished way back in the field.

No it doesn't. You still have to run faster than all the others. Everyone goes over the course at least the day before, they all know it.
And I would rather have 7 faster runners than 7 home course runners any day.

Out of curiosity, looking back just before 2023 xc begins, was this course a little short?
