I don’t understand. All the leftists on this site and elsewhere tell me that this sort of thing hardly happens, and anyone who brings it up is a bigot. So how dare you print these lies.
For the record, I have never said that, and I am and have always been adamantly against biological males competing in female competitions. I DO believe I hold the majority opinion there among liberals, and I also believe that eventually this will be sorted out and not allowed.

Philosophically, it makes no sense to state that people can decide their own gender, in defiance of biology, but then cannot compete as their “chosen” gender. Either their “feelings” and “decision” about their gender is right, or it isn’t. To say it isn’t fair for a man to compete against women is correct and truthful, but what we’re really saying is that biological sex matters, that you may claim to be a woman, but your claim is false where the rubber meets the road.
No, I do not believe this problem will be solved anytime soon. It presents an intractable philosophical problem for the leftists who are at the commanding heights of our culture.
The only adjustment I would make to this is saying that that's a lot to put on high school girls who are just getting started figuring life out, but absolutely should've been done at last year's NCAA Women's Swimming Championships.
assuming the girls/women know they are competing against a biological male, the parents should get together and sort something out, being passive will see their daughters taken advantage of by men who compete as men primarily because they know they cannot beat other men. the parents are quoted in the link as speaking out against it, but that doesn't achieve anything, especially after the event.
and i know the male 'identifying' as female is young but he must surely also know that what he is doing is wrong. he must be able to put himself in the shoes of the 2nd placed athlete and he must be able to see he has a clear biological advantage when racing against females. doesn't he feel even a little sheepish standing up there on the podium?
You know this crap all started with Bruce Jenner. I know he is against this but it all started to really blow up with him. What a time we live in. In the meantime, giant fat butch who never played a sports in her life will accuse me of being a homophobe if said this is wrong.

INCORRECT!
Gender is a social construct. Biological SEX is not.
How someone gender identifies makes NO DIFFERENCE in this world except for athletics. Biological males have an unfair advantage in just about every sport (women's gymnastics might be one exception), but beyond that, meh. I don't even give a crap about the bathroom issue. Go in the stall, no one is the wiser. If illegal behavior happens no matter who it is, then legal action needs to be taken.
You missed the point. It's not about scholarships. It ALREADY took away a win.
Accepting transgender individuals as their self-identified gender has been proven to decrease suicide rates. You are literally placing someone's "win" at a sport over another person's life. You literally care more about one person's "right" to win a game over another person's right to live.
Are you implying they can’t self identify in other areas of their life? What about the girls who aren’t getting their deserved win, their chance at varsity, etc.? Do you think biological girls do not have the same hopes, dreams, identity issues? Why do you prioritize their issues of those of biological girls who are at a distinct disadvantage?

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. By that rationale, we have to submit to and cater to any wacko who points a gun to his or her head and makes any demand of us whatsoever, on the threat of suicide if we fail to comply.

I respectfully disagree. Gender is not a social construct. Men and woman are different from birth, and it begins with biology.
Leftists will have a very hard time insisting that everyone use preferred pronouns, allow transgenders to use their preferred bathroom, have a doctor fill you with hormones and cut off your pen!s, but then tell those same people that they can’t compete as their chosen sex.
”Wait”, they’ll say, “you just told me that I can decide my gender.“
”Well yes,” liberals will reply. “But that’s just your gender, which was forced on you by an oppressive patriarchy. We’re talking now about sex, you see, which is biological and can’t be changed. Wouldn’t be fair for someone like you, born a man, to compete against girls.”
”But you already told me that I can be whatever I want to be, that I am always becoming! I had my junk cut off, and I’ve been on hormone therapy since adolescence. Everyone at work calls me “she” of they’ll be fired and cancelled. I use the women's bathroom, i dress in women's clothes, I march in all the parades. You told me I can be whatever I want.”
”Yes but…in sports, gender doesn’t matter, only sex.”
”So am i a woman or not?!”
”You can be whatever you want to be, poor dear.”
”I can’t be a woman on the track, apparently.”
“Well…not exactly. It’s very philosophical…you know?”
I think you’ll be unsuccessful in making that case. I think that’s why this continues to happen. We cannot have it both ways.

I was hoping to see she was 72nd in the boys race and on the same day she was also 1st in the girls race. That would be cool.
Anyways, I wish I was in high school now. I was good enough to set the high school girls national record from 100 to 3200, including the hurdles. That would be fun. Knowing me, I would totally say I’m a girl and then go smash every high school girls record. Even get myself Olympic A standards in the 400 and up. That would have been good times.

You a person with no integrity. Unbelievable that you told us you are a whore. Wow.

How someone gender identifies is absolutely relevant in this world. Allowing people to identify as a gender that is not their own is asking society to believe a lie. Biology tells us what our gender is. Feelings do not change that.
And you may not care about the bathroom issue, but the women who had to look at Lia Thomas's junk in the locker room may have a different view.

You also might be lying. So you could run 10.94 for 100m and 9:38 (the current records)? Or are you really old and so it is not impressive to ever the girls times back then? Because very few kids could run 10.94 and 9:38 in HS. I don’t believe you are one of them.
Flagpole, where does the idea that "gender IS a social construct" originate from?
I don't make the rules. I just follow the rules.
"Gender - either of the two sexes (male and female), especially when considered with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones. The term is also used more broadly to denote a range of identities that do not correspond to established ideas of male and female."
Gender is a social construct. Biological SEX is not.

Gender does not equal biological sex. You are mistaken.

I think you’ll be unsuccessful in making that case. I think that’s why this continues to happen. We cannot have it both ways.
Just to be clear, very few males who "identify as" women nowadays and in recent years have their "junk cut off." In a 2015 survey done of 27,000+ people in the US who identify as transgender by a trans activist "think tank" the Williams Institute, only 5-12% of respondents reported having any kind of genital surgery. (Sorry, I can't break it down by sex because the survey obscured all the respondents' sex.)
The powers-that-be in trans community nowadays are very against actual studies being done to show the rates of surgeries and the longterm outcomes. But the few papers that have been published in the past decade which try to determine the actual rates of surgeries by looking at patients' electronic medical records, nationwide insurance claims, and data reported by US hospitals indicate that only between 4-5% of males who call themselves transwomen nowadays have had their "junk cut off."
When males who identify as "transwomen" talk about the "life-saving surgeries" they need to affirm their woman gender identities, they almost always mean surgeries on parts of the body other than the genitals: silicone implants in the chest to give them the appearance of having large breasts, facial feminization surgeries, tracheal shaves, hairline lowering, body contouring to make them appear curvy, hip and butt augmentation as in Brazilian butt lifts.
The low rates of genital surgeries in this population is why sports governing bodies like the IOC and NCAA in recent years decided to stop making gonadectomy a prerequisite for trans-identified males who wish to compete in women's sports and instead made the standard all about T levels. If these persons had had their "junk cut off," they wouldn't need to take drugs to try to suppress the amount of testosterone their testicles produce for 12 months in order to gain entry into women's competition.
But surgery and T suppression are both irrelevant in this particular case. The state of WA is one of many US states that now allows males to participate in girls' scholastic sports without taking drugs to suppress their T or altering their bodies in any ways. All a male student has to do to get into girls' sports is claim to have an opposite-sex gender identity .
