That is what I have heard. OTC is providing support and the athletes will be giving back by volunteering with the club's youth program. After Rowland's departure, Thomas is speculated to be taking over the elite group.

I posted about this yesterday. From an email to OTC members:

The OTC Board recently voted to support a group of new OTC members and former UO track and field and cross country athletes as they train and compete post-collegiately. The team includes Jackson Mestler, Reed Brown, Cole Hocker, Matt Wisner, and Jack Yearian. Former University of Oregon distance coach Ben Thomas will continue to coach this group as they pursue the next level.

OTC Club members can expect to see Thomas and his athletes represent the Club throughout the remainder of the cross country season as well as during the 2023 track and field season.

“It is a privilege to be part of this historic track club that Bill Bowerman first started to give post-collegiate athletes an opportunity to continue to follow their dreams,” Coach Thomas stated. “We are looking forward to more than just representing the Club; we want to be active, involved members. We are already enjoying the chance to help coach the OTC Youth Cross Country Team this fall, and we plan to be a part of future OTC events throughout the community as well.”

You beat me to it. Although Hocker lacks the immature personality of Drew Hunter at that age. Ultimately, not very conducive to living like a monk and really honing your craft. As Hocker's and Cooper's paths diverge, it will be interesting to see the development of both.

Steve Scott was fine with some local college whipping boys for workouts, Cole will be fine too

100%. I was utterly disappointed with the video. It was him asking the athletes stupid questions.

I believe it is 'champing at the bit' anyway. I thought the long run/team announcement video was good. It's amazing how effortless 5:30 pace looks for those guys. The Nuttycombe one was not worth watching and I agree not consistent with a top-notch media outlet.
