You make the rudest comments. Why not talk about running? Tuohy's ND record was done in super spikes because the course was a hard race track, not a XC course. Without super shoes, she would have been 25 seconds slower.
ND course is comparable to the Stillwater course. If there is a course I would bet on that is a full 6k, it would be Panorama Farms.
So far, Valby has only been running flat and short courses. In her previous National performances, she is known to race up front and die out in the last kilometer. She's only the pacer.
I can't speak to the 6k course, but the 8k is definitely short. Previous UVa coaches would readily admit it. It is a challenging, legit course that produces curiously fast times (at least for 8k).
And, whoever said the SEC meet didn't allow GPS watches needs to go and look at Strava. Plenty of posts from the meet.

Can you send the link of it here? Would like to see it. Which runners posted? If that were true.
Course is not easy, constant hills the whole way, very few places to get into rhythm. 8k/10k course was known to be short when I ran it like 5 years ago. 10K much more so than the 8k. Unclear if they lengthened it in advance of NCAAs next year or changed the route at all.
Anyone that can't see that Valby is so much superior to Tuohy is just a blind fanboi.
Valby beat chelangat by 7 seconds by going off in the last 2k mark, Katelyn beat chelangat by 12 seconds by going off only in the last k.
Hehe ;)
Not saying one way or another because I think it'll be a great race between Touhy and Valby (just like NCAA 5k last year in Eugene, but Katelyn's win over Chelangat at Piane was over 5K, not 6K... 12 seconds is huge over 5k. Valby beat her by 8 seconds over 6k.
I think using the athlete comparison is a much better method of comparison rather than course comparison. There is absolutely no way you can compare Texas A&M and Ole Miss courses compared to Panaroma Farms.
Several races over the years have been run at Panorama...has the course been changed at all. I did watch the SE Regional in 2019 that Henes won...looked the same, but I wasn't paying too much attention.
I've very surprised that courses are not required to be wheeled/gps'ed...what is the variance from stated distance that is allowed?

This is from 2019 (10K) and things seem the same now.
At the SEC meet the top runners PR'd by 50-70 seconds each. Chmiel PR'd at Panorama by around 9 seconds.
FWIW, I looked it up, and 100% of the top 20 runners at SEC PR'd by an average time of 46 seconds. Many by over 60 seconds. Chelangat PR'd by 56 seconds, and she has a lot of history on all kinds of courses, fast and slow.
Some of the runners priors PRs were at Dale Watts (30-40m short course) or at 5.85k distance courses (6k unavailable), and they still PR'd by a large margin.
