For just an overall track and field film, you can always watch Personal Best which had a slew of real athletes and co-starred a competitive hurdler. Sadly, many people today won't recognize them. And you have to put up with a whining Mariel Hemingway.
None other than Patrice Donnelly in her prime; I had a mad crush on her in 82 and must have seen this movie 20 times just for her. She was hot! Totally not believable she lost our to Kenny Flipping Moore... ;)

Honestly, I enjoyed Brittany Runs A Marathon much more than I thought I would! Highly recommend. Lighthearted comedy with a great message.
