Aidan Cox been injured since winter. If healthy he's better than all those guys. If not, then not. Not sure about Kipyego on this list, he doesn't seem to be a super big xc guy. Nathan Lopez is better than Ross and Burgess right now too, he was having injury problems last xc but beat both of them at the MIAA state meet this spring in two different events. Marcus Reilly is not a super big XC guy. Also watch out for Singleton's junior teammate from Butler. A lot of these guys also might do eastbay instead, so look to Mass to fill in the gaps. Whole bunch of junior guys all around 9:20 to 9 flat this outdoor
What’s Cox’s injury deal? Feels like he’s been injured forever—multiple stress fractures or just one really bad injury?
He grew 7 inches in a year. I had seen some passing mention of growing pains on a state XC/T&F news site, and just found this article.

Aidan ran 14:32 for 5k at Alvirne HS in NH. It's not a particularly fast course, and as it's the course NH is using for it's Meet of Champions, it's legit distance. Note that he was the first junior not named Young or Sahlman at Runninglane last year (7th, 14:18).
Why’s he need to race if they can mop the floor with the state without him? State titles mean nothing to a kid with national aspirations. He’ll be ready when it actually matters… stay in your lane

Did he choose to sit out or was he injured or sick again?
Might be going out on a limb here, but if Wischusen doesn’t race at NXR, I think the top 2 boys teams in this region will be: 1. CBA 2. Bishop Hendricken (bold prediction) Hendricken won this region last year and returns their 1,3,4 and found 4 more guys to stick with their 2/3. They are also a very senior-heavy team and a well-coached program. Next year, Union Catholic should be able to qualify with Wischusen back. They only have 2 seniors
Hall from CT averaged 16:11 on the same course earlier in the year without what seems to be their number 3 guy. Where as Hendricken averaged 16:14 at RI Class Championships and 16:16 at the RIIL State meet. I think that Hall is being underrated and that they are better than Hendricken but we will see.
I think the first spot is going to CBA. UC would take the next spot if they had Wischusen. It looks like a close race between Hendricken and Hall. Hendricken has Silvestri and Tierney with a weaker 3, 4 and 5, but it seems like hall has yet to have all of their runners run well on the same day. There are a few other teams out there from PA and NJ that could vie for the spot. It will come down to the day.
in any case, the battle after CBA should be really interesting as should the NY Boys...the NE girls race, to my mind, has no clear cut favorite and is wide open for the 2 spots, although North Allegheny isn't bad...in the NY Girls race, after Saratoga, it's anyone's ballgame.
