If she is using PEDs they didn't help her much in this race.

The world was a lot better before everyone had a camera 24-7 and access to social media platforms.

This women may just really suffer from severe anxiety and has a difficult time dealing with competing...

Finishing 17 miles in 4:13 is a POWER WALK for her. Walking and running are two very different things. Good for her. We have no idea what the fox told her she could or couldn’t do.

This makes sense to me. An easy trail run with no pressure or publicity might be a fun way to spend a weekend. This woman has been institutionalized in the past. Maintaining good mental health is apparently an ongoing challenge for her. Maybe we should just chill and leave her alone. When she steps back on the big stage, then you can take your anonymous shots at her.

Why compete under a fake name and go social media dark then?

Moving for 4 hours straight regardless of pace is still a tremendous stress for someone who is "hurt".

When you consider the race had 6400' ft of climbing, all technical terrain, all above 7600' that is TREMENDOUS stress.

I would say that is the equivalent stress of her doing 20 miles at 6 min pace. If not more.

I'm a huge fan of Molly but this is a shady thing to do :(

If you are not an ultra or trail runner I understand completely how it is hard to believe how 17 miles at 14:30 pace is taxing.

But trust me, 6400' over just 17 miles is brutal. The amount of impact descending that amount has on the legs is a ton. Factor in how high of elevation it is too.

The post said she was walking 12-13% grade. She averaged 13.5 min/mile - was that not walking? Not sure what the big deal is. Sounds like she just wanted to get off the treadmill and I don't know who can't relate to that.

Exactly. This is a BS move on her part.

You can't test positive for Aderall out-of-competition. It's banned in-competition only. She either needed to get a TUE or to stop taking it, and she couldn't do either. Also, that was definitely Molly. She's being very flaky for sure right now.

I think I know why Molly Seidel used a fake name to race the UTMB event. Apparently UTMB does have a it's own drug policy and bans the same PEDs that WADA does in addition to banning all beta-2-agonist and common painkillers like Advil, but not sanctioned by WADA. The UTMB anti-doping is it's own in house organization called "QUARTZ". Details of it below. Makes it obvious why Molly Seidel used a fake name to enter and went dark on her social media for the race, it's so she wouldn't have to declare to the UTMB anti-doping she is taking banned PEDs. Someone tell Camille Herron to get on this ultra running doping case and sound her social media high horse:

The QUARTZ Event Program has neither the vocation nor the competence to replace anti-doping rules but aims to strengthen the medical supervision before, during and after the competition.

The QUARTZ Event program is managed by an Experts Commission solely composed of doctors. This Medical Commission can take advice from experts of its choice and specifically that gives an consultative advice to the race direction on the medical condition of participants.

Provide all urinary and/or blood and/or hair and/or salivary samples required from 30 days before the competition and up to 15 days after the competition and also consent to the associated analysis of these samples, on the understanding that the costs for sampling and analyses are covered directly by the Organization.

Respect the 2021 Prohibited list from World Anti-Doping Code but also do not participate in the competition when using:

Within 60 days before the start of the competition and during the competition

Intravenous iron infusion

Within 7 days before the start of the competition and during competition

Intravenous infusion

Gas inhalation

Substance subject to a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) according to the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) Prohibited List published annually

All glucocorticoids regardless of the mode of administration

Thyroid synthesis hormones except in case of partial or total removal of the thyroid or hypothyroidism of medical origin.

Within 24 hours before the start of the competition and during competition

All beta-2-agonist regardless of the mode of administration

All painkillers including Tramadol and Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) regardless of the mode of administration

All substances included in the 2021 WADA Monitoring Program

The possible use of these different substances may be identified in the context of the analysis carried out before and/or after the competition or any other means of investigation.

Accept to answer any meeting request on site or remotely (phone or videoconference) that the Experts Commission may ask for in order to discuss their ability or not to participate in the competition or not to be rank after the competition.

Submit any doping control form legible completed within 30 days before the start of the competition and up to 15 days after the competition.

6. Accept the use, for the only purpose of research and in a strictly anonymous way, of data concerning him. Each participant has a right of access, rectification and opposition to data concerning him. The Experts Commission is the authority with which the participant can exercise this right.

Any unreasonable breach, refusal, or transmission of erroneous information in connection with the QUARTZ Event Program can result in the exclusion of the participant from the competition before the competition or not to be rank after the competition.

ANTI-DOPING CONTROL

Any participant could be subject to an anti-doping control before, during or after the event. In the case of refusal or abstention, the athlete will be sanctioned as if they were found guilty of doping."

Not necessarily true. See my previous post about the UTMB's own in house anti-doping that bans more stuff and for longer than WADA. Specifically, the UTMB QUARTZ program bans substances that require a TUE from them for 60 days before competition (unlike WADA), which makes a lot more sense than the WADA rule. So looks like Molly Seidel has committed an anti-doping violation according to the UTMB and QUARTZ rules.

You don't know much about how testing works, do you...?
Anyway, it looks like she was never injured and lied about it to get out of Worlds.
