I actually never count Hines as a legit pro footballer, he was a failed experiment. The guy caught one pass.

And was paid to do so, that makes him a pro.

Actually it was two passes, plus one carry and one k.o. return.
Willie Gault
Sam Graddy
My bad, was thinking Tommie Smith, he caught one pass.
Hines didn't run a WR 4x1 team.

Yep on Graddy and Gault.

The Big Cat ran that long second leg on this 4x1 team.
Ernie Ladd all 6'9" and 290 pounds ran on a world record 4 x 1 team?

Acc to WP, he ran anchor on the '68 USA Oly team that took the WR down to 38.24.
Name the ballet Willie Gault danced with the Chicago City Ballet Company in 1986.

There were 7 other pro footballers to be that ran on world record 4x1 teams, who?
Ernie Ladd?
If somebody was on a motor bike and gave them a 100 meter lead then hefty Ernie could finish of the race with a world record.
Ladd was a legitimate 300 pound tackle when nobody in the NFL was playing at anything close to that weight.
I knew that but just so down on Hines as being a legit pro footballer I pay no attention to him. Same with Tommie Smith, they were failed experiments.

Son, it was a joke.

Right, but did they qualify for NFL pensions?

Richard Sligh played about the same time as Ernie and was 7' and 300 pounds. and played some for the Raiders. He is the only NFL 7-footer.

My man, these two former sprinters did next to nothing in pro football. If you have some need to think they were actual players do it, I need more than a couple plays.
Bob Hayes was why these two were given a shot, Hayes was a footballer who ran some track, that wasn't these two.

I think currently an NFL player has to play 3 seasons to qualify for a pension. Both Hines and Smith played about 3 years but not sure what the pension policy was back then.
