While I wait to hear back from World Athletics for their response as to why the start reaction times are faster this year than in year's past, I received an interesting email from an LRC vicitor.
Does anyone want to look at what the airpocket under the forefoot could be playing in this? Prior there was no airpocket so the foot was almost flush against the block. But now there is foam/air between the foot and the block and maybe that is causing the faster reaction times because if they are measuring pressure, since the foot isn't flush, maybe the measure of the first move is causing the faster reaction times?
Any merit to that idea?
