More good news to have these busts. This drug for Cherono was used by Sun Yang and the teenage Russian skating champ this year.

It is, but at the same time it's disconcerting a little that the majority of these distance runners get busted for things other than EPO. Presumably, guys like Amos and Cherono are taking EPO if they are taking these other things. I remember reading that there were more failed tests for nandrolene than EPO among Kenyan distance runners. Indicates that EPO tests are still not very effective.

Yes, see also Shelburrito and others. EPO has a conveniently small glowing time when used in small amounts. Tucker provided some nice details while commenting on the Kiprop case back then.

The brief description we have is a tampering violation. I think competing at this level in the sprint distances requires peds. That said, here you had a clear red flag, a coach/close family member with a well-documented doping history. Part of what you look for is not simply times or progressions, but also where a young athlete could acquire the knowledge and wherewithal to dope. A program or a coach or teammates who are doping. Being the close family member of a former top pro runner solves that question easily.

It’s all in the release in the first post. Read.

Missing one test wouldn't trigger a whereabouts violation, so he must have really messed up with regard to his explanation. I'd have thought marijuana much more likely than PEDs for him, given that he is coached by his father, who has had great success. Maybe he didn't realize out of comp marijuana positive wouldn't trigger a suspension, but then maybe he was afraid about the publicity.

By the way they split the jobs his basically has no impact on Ross and vice versa

Dude might be getting paid though.

How do you explain this away if your Ross you're coaching him and he's your kid

I hope I am wrong, but Ross has 2 strong data points that suggest he is dirty; however, as others have suggested he could have avoided or tampered with the process because he had smoked some pot.

Last 2 years: Coleman, Houlihan, McNeal, Ross caught by AIU.

Trevor Graham has been part of the Aggies coaching group for six years. Their rise has not been a coincidence nor clean.
