A bit harsh don't you think Mr. Malmo? He's a high school coach who has had great success with his teams. Yeah, he had/has some amazing talent to work with, but he seems to be doing all the right things to develop young runners and prepare them for the next level.

Your Info is wrong. They have never run in the 70's. This comes from the kids, parents and coach and everyone that really knows them.

You sound so defensive. Why? I’m just telling you info I was told second hand. There doesn’t seem to be any reason for the person who told me to lie. It’s been talked about on LR several times by people who have found Strava accounts of NP runners. Why do you seem so defiant and angry? Nothing wrong with working hard, but does seem like there is something wrong with being dishonest about it.

What strava accounts? I would like you to post those. All the parents, kids and coach are not lying to pull a fast one over on everyone. Just replace jealousy letsrun posters. You have no sources.

The thing is, only a few Newbury Park guys have Strava accounts. And they are all set to private.

For these guys that would be continuous 200s alternating basically 1500/mile pace (30s per 200 --> 4:01 mile) and slower than half marathon pace (40s per 200 --> 1:10 HM).

So honestly 6k of this is not impressive.

He should be installing in these kids it is important not to burn out and overtrain. It isn't healthy. Concentrate on still running when you are 60, not running 4 minute miles as a teen or in your 20s. Longevity is more important than speed.

30/40s is 4:40 mile pace. The hard way. Thats 1:01 half marathon pace.
