Why did Michael Granville Blast a Semi-Final?

Thanks for sharing this article. I was running at the time of Granville (I was a nobody to him) and it was pretty common knowledge among coaches etc. that his dad was this demonstrative. Really good to see how he has moved on.

More info about his training, what he's doing now, his time at UCLA, and his complicated relationship with his father/coach. While some of his father's behavior can certainly be described as "abusive", it sounds to me like he also had quite a bit of respect for him as well.

He seems like a really cool dude and glad to hear he's doing well.

Michael was a large man for a middle distance star. I believe he might have been about 185 lbs and so this is quite heavy for an 800m runner. I am not saying it is unheard of but definitely on the heavy side.

Go eff yourself, dork.

Feelings hurt? Clown.

Imagine if he cruised the semi and won the final, but no record because conditions weren’t good.

You would have never heard of his name.
