In the convoluted universe that is World Athletics, it is technically a world record, as the time is superior to the listed world record of 10:36.50 set by the USA team at the World Relays in the Bahamas in 2015. WA doesn't recognize the indoor version of the DMR as a world record event. Probably the only reason the DMR is recognized as a WR event by World Athletics is to legitimize the World Relays meet.
Would love to see either WA or some meet promoter put together a legit DMR race. Maybe that's what wakes WA up to make the DMR indoors a world record event.
Assuming that there was drug testing of the team at New Balance? Would hate to see them lose the WR because there was no testing.

I read that Syd had a hamstring injury as well. She was there signing autographs, so I don't believe it had anything to do with $.
The venue is incredible. If this weren't the grand opening of the New Balance Track, I wouldn't have found the race especially enjoyable either - but the DMR was a great way to showcase some of the top NB athletes as well as the track. I tried to run a lap, but was asked not to - so unfortunately I can't comment on how fast it is.
Longest legs of the relay == Longest links of the relay, ie. the 1600 and 1200 sections. The longest links of the relay accounted for most of the gains over the previous record.
